I'm looking for current lease rates on S90 T5 Momentum. Prefer 36/10 and 36/12, unless another month/milages combination is more advantageous.

    .00010 and 54% / 53%. $2000 lease bonus

24/30/39 month residuals for 10K miles are 61% / 58% / 52%. Subtract 1% for 12K. MF is the same for all terms

  • Would the Inscription AWD be a 53% residual for a 36 month $10,000 residual then? Does the $2000 lease bonus include a loyalty bonus. I just bought a used 2013 Volvo from this dealer and they said I would also be entitled to a loyalty bonus of $1,000.00.

Yes, 10K allowance residual would be 53%.

Loyalty is a separate incentive from the lease bonus - they should combine.

  • I have two offers from a dealer and i am sorry i do not have the final number, as they were given to me verbally, and I forgot the exact number. The deals are;

A T5 Inscription FWD 6 grand off MSRP which was in the 54500 range, 39 months, 12K miles, MF of 00026. Something like 635 a month including taxes.

They also gave me an offer of a T6 Inscription AWD, 9K off a 62,200 MSRP, of which 600 of the MSRP was for LoJac, I likely can refuse the Lojac and save an additional 600 bucks. That price was in the 650 range I believe.

Do these numbers sound like a deal? I surprised by the amount they are willing to take off which then has me concerned there is something I am missing. Sorry, lack of trust with the car industry

    T5 is .00006 MF
    T6 is .00020 MF

Both models have a $2000 lease incentive.

Those are big discounts, but the residuals are down around 50%, so it takes a big discount to get a decent lease payment.

  • I am very confused here. So if I can get some help? The following are the numbers given to me by the dealership, for some reason when I put them into a lease calculator I do not come up with the same numbers the dealer does. I have used multiple calculators. some are within just a dollar or two, others as much as 50 dollars off.

    T5 Inscription
    MSRP - 57655
    Sales Price 52000
With docs and varies other fees to include tax total cash price is 57107.
    Residual is 29754
39 / 12K Lease is 709.05 per month including taxes.
the CA tax rate is 9.75.

does this seem like accurate numbers, and is it a fair deal?

You can't use the cash price to calculate a lease. Taxes in CA are paid on the lease payment, not collected upfront. You need the adjusted CAP cost.

Thoughts on this S90 advertised lease? They are advertising 499/month 499 due at signing (plus taxes, tags and doc fee). I'm in PA. Assuming the same sale price, what would total due at signing and final monthly payment be if I need 15k/year?'

The difference between 10K per year and 15K is 3% of MSRP, or $1776.

    I don't see a lease term mentioned.

On the surface, $499/mo + tax (9% in PA) is a decent payment on a $59K car.

Acquisition fee, first month payment, registration, and the other little fees. CA state.

Seems pretty reasonable for a $51,000 car. And a decent discount.

I agree with the discount. I would suggest rolling the acquisition fee into the payment.

Other than that, if you're comfortable with the discount from sticker, not much to complain about.

Without the cap reduction, I get $693/mo with tax included; $605/mo with the cap reduction.

We don't recommend the cap reduction - that money would be lost if the car is stolen and totaled, and it masks the true cost of the lease.

Texas assesses sales tax against the entire selling price, which will make your lease payment very high by comparison.

Ask the dealer what the adjusted cap cost, and how they got to that number from the selling price.

Is this the Momentum or Inscription trim?

For 36/10, the lease numbers are .00025 and 53%.

With your prices, I get $770/mo with $0 down.

Politely tell the dealer you won't sign anything where the MF is marked up; they know what the base rate is.

I have a home-grown spreadsheet calculator; on-line calcs sometimes make assumptions we know nothing about.

    MSRP $57,490.00
    times residual value percentage 0.53
    equals the residual value $30,469.70
negotgiated selling price of car $53,311.00
    add in fees $644.00
add lines 4&5 gross capitalized c ost $53,955.00
    substract down payment/rebates 0
    Adjusted capitalized cost $53,955.00
substract residual value from adjusted cap cost $23,485.30
divide depcreciation amount by number of months in lease $652.37
add adjusted cap cost and residual value x money factor (.00025) $21.11
add the rent charge to base payment to get pretax lease payment $673.48
multiply tax rate by pretax lease payment for total lease payment $717.25

I can't speak for what @michaell included in his calculations, but I agree with your math.

As noted above, the acquisition fee isn't accounted for, and the dealership hasn't disclosed the money factor they are using, either.

Is the difference because in Texas taxes are paid on entire price and not monthly payment?

I can't speak for what @michaell included in his calculations, but I agree with your math.

As noted above, the acquisition fee isn't accounted for, and the dealership hasn't disclosed the money factor they are using, either.
Is the difference because in Texas taxes are paid on entire price and not monthly payment?
Ahh.... yes. Texas taxes the full selling price. Calculate that amount and add it to the CAP cost. Then leave out any other tax calculation.

  • Good call! I now get exactly $770.. thanks guys!

As I wrote this, another local dealership emailed me offering 699 a month with 699 down (for the exact same vehicle), but claimed they couldn't release their MF or Residual.. I always thought that those numbers would be consistent with all dealerships, but I guess not.. thanks again!

Residuals will be consistent. Dealers can mark up the money factor for extra profit.
But, if you are getting a better deal, then they aren't likely to have a markup

We don't track selling prices - use the 'make / model / year' pull downs at the top of the page to link to the price tools.

Your goal is to beat the TMV price for your zip code.

  • Hello, quick question on the MF for a S90 T6 Momentum with Vision & Convenience... is the MF listed anywhere on the Volvo website? I received the below deal from a dealership and the numbers add up, but their MF is .00079... from researching your previous posts, I thought it was .00025 (presuming dealership doesn't mark it up)... thank you!

    MSRP $57,490.00
    times residual value percentage 0.53
    equals the residual value $30,469.70
negotgiated selling price of car $49,453.00
    add in fees $644.00
add lines 4&5 gross capitalized c ost $50,097.00
    substract down payment/rebates 0
    Adjusted capitalized cost $50,097.00
Adjusted cap cost with 6.5% sales tax $53,353.31
substract residual value from adjusted cap cost $22,883.61
divide depcreciation amount by number of months in lease $635.66
add adjusted cap cost and residual value x money factor (.00079) $63.65
add the rent charge to base payment to get pretax lease payment $699.30

36 month MF on the T6 Momentum is indeed .00025 - dealer is marking it up for extra profit.

MF is confidential information - but, we're willing to share it with you.

Just so I'm reading that correctly, volvo is giving $7713 off for a T5 lease?

Do you know if these can be combined with thier "pull ahead" program as well?

    Thanks!
