Originally I was planning on leasing, however long term it makes more sense to own a vehicle in my current situation. Do you happen to know the incentives being offered for purchasing in the State of New Jersey? I'm looking to get into any 2017 Honda Accord EX-L Coupe. This will be my first car purchase ever.
I was going to email multiple dealers internet sales managers (10-15 or so) around the last 2 days of the month and tell them that whichever dealership will give me 2000.00 below invoice will get my business that day [as seen in this forum as an effective means of purchasing]. Being as it seems the rebates look strong, I don't see this as to insulting [please correct me if this seems to much of a lowball offer]. If the dealership accepts this offer and can email me back a Bill of Sale contract with all of that specific vehicles information and pricing then I will leave a credit card deposit to hold the vehicle until I am able to come down and finalize everything.
Does this sound plausible to you? Thanks in advance, I appreciate this forum as it has been very educational and informative!
Cheers,
Ryan from NJ
-edit- I should also note that I currently have a 680 credit score, but my father whom is graciously co-signing has a score in the upper 700s. I am curious as to what Honda is offering for 60-72 month apr for financing for this model (if 84 months is an option id consider). Only variable I'm trying to control is keeping my payments under 400 a month. I will be putting 7000.00 down. Thanks again!
Excellent plan of attack . Asking dealers in NJ for 2k below invoice really puts you at 1700/1600 below invoice depending on doc fees. Start your calls / email blasts on FEb 27th maybe holding out till FEB 28th for lowest deal. I'll post later NJ dealers that you need to call in addition to yours . Financing chart below.

OTD $26,500
When you purchased your car, price really doesn't matter that much. You gotta love it!
If time is on your side.... your playing with house money then . Email / call 30 dealers in and around your area . Pit one dealer against the next and stick to a XXX price gets my business .
Feb 28th ..........Getting another $500 off your above deal should be your target price to buy. Your room for negotiations is taken back most of this dealers ridiculous $699 doc fee.
End of 1st sales quarter is March 31st. If you wait till then...... above 500 savings should be very doable if not more . supply and demand in the area's your looking to buy will be a price factor.
Question 1- NO....... 2 - it depends on sales numbers ...3- don't know .........4- certain times of the year yields different % rates .
Being time is on your side shoot for a 500 lower price this month (feb ) . Next month $500 plus and stick to that price until you buy vehicle . mar, apr, may, june, etc
Personally if I'm only saving 500 dollars more waiting till June , July. I buy in Feb. and start enjoying vehicle now . your deal now as it stands is better than most states are selling

I am planning to buy a 2017 Accord LX at Texas. At present, I have got a OTD price for 21050 without financing and some accessories such as (wheel locks, splash guards, & trunk tray). Was is a good price or whether I can negotiate it to 20600?
Thanks!
What are folks paying for the Sport in Central Florida. Ive heard rumors of $21,500 for the vehicle itself and no trade, is this possible?
I know I cant get out of the fees below. I have no trade. Central Florida
Destination and Handling $550.00

The $875 destination charge is not negotiable with any new car purchase. $550 is probably the dealers doc fee charge. All Honda dealers will not remove Doc charge . You can counter high doc fees by lowering your asking price. If dealer quotes you 21k counter with 20,500

To be honest, this price was perfect for me but then I found out the car in question has 227 miles on it. As a result, I'm looking for them to reduce to 22,500 purchase price as compensation. We've been at a stalemate for a couple days now. We were also stalled at 23000 for a couple days.
So, should I hold out for 22,500 or go ahead and pull the trigger? What would you do?
Am I too caught up on the mileage and expecting compensation for it? Most of what I've read online says that even a car with several test drives that's been on a lot for awhile will have under 50 miles.
