Thanks to a combination of lead-footed drivers and long highway miles, we have been averaging 48 mpg in our 2016 Toyota Prius test car.

    The front of that car is a complete deal breaker. Toyota recognizes this as they made the Prius Prime at least tolerable.

    Makes sense to people who care about the look/style of their cars. For people who buy Prius, Camry, or any Toyota product they can care less if it was shaped like a log, painted hot pink, smelled like a barnyard and got to 60mph in 30 minutes. Years of brain-washing from sources like Consumer Reports have convinced people of "renowned quality" and "reliability" so they march like zombies to the dealers regardless of any research, comparison, or common sense.
