Classic AutoNation quote - show all the numbers for a purchase, then quote a lease payment that isn't connected to them at all.

C300 RWD for 36/10 - .00124 and 61%; dealer is marking up the MF on you, a bit, for extra profit.

Ask them for the adjusted cap cost - this will include all the lease-specific charges (acquisition fee, for one).

We also recommend limiting your out of pocket costs to just the first payment and DMV costs - add the dealer and acq fee into the lease payment.

Michaell, I am getting ready to negotiate the monthly payment from $472 to $400 a month.  @Michaell based on your calculations, would this be an ok move or low ball for high 300s?

    Thanks

Don't negotiate the payment; negotiate the seller no price and keep an eye on the fees.

thanks for the advice @Michaell, in other words negotiate the MF to a lower rate and watch for fees.  What's is the MF on this vehicule, just to have a point of reference, thanks for your wise input BTW

@Michaell the numbers are in, the sales rep had to do it the old fashion way due to pc issues in the dealer.  See attached.  Let me know your thoughts

    That is old school

    .00124 and 61%

Acquisition fee is marked up; base rate is $795.

However, with those numbers, I get $456/mo with tax included. Close, but it looks like they've marked up the MF for a bit of extra profit.

What you should do is tell them you won't sign a deal where the fees and MF are marked up - no need to tell them you know the base rates. They already know.

What is the adjusted cap cost? The drive off amount seems to cover just the first payment and gov't fees.

I now get $479/mo, with tax included.

Confirm the adjusted cap and the MF the dealer are using to get the $496/mo quote. Those are the only two variables in a lease calculation.

@Michaell looking here the quote in detail, I found that they are using $27,546 as purchase option (RV). However, if I use MSRP 45,660 x 61% (based on what they told me for RV) I get 27,852.60. This might be the slight disconnect.

Is this a demo or loaner vehicle? If so, the RV might be adjusted downward to account for the miles.

Though, an RV delta of < $300 won't account for much difference in the payment - less than $10/mo

By the way, the dealer gave me a 4,500 discount and I got 2,000 from the Fleet employee program (FET) which brough me down to 39,160 sales price from MSRP 45,660

Seems good, though we don't track MB pricing. Read back through the last few pages of this thread to see what others have been able to negotiate.

Its a new car (8miles). Also, I'm interested in adding the 2 service package for $750 (residualized) and apply for auto pay for a 0.00010 MF discount. I will check with others as well, I just wanted to check with you if the montly payment seems legit, I appreciate greatly all your input

60% is the correct residual for 36/10 on the C300 RWD for May.

@Michaell thanks for the confirmation on the RV. I ran some calcs with 60% RV, and I got the following.

    MSRP $45,660.00
    Net Cap Cost $40,954.95
    Residual 60%
    Money Factor 0.00121
    Interest rate $2.90
    Lease term $36.00
    Residual amt $27,396.00
    Depreciation $13,558.95
    Dep a month $376.64
    Lease charge $82.70
    Pre-tax payment $459.34
    Sales tax 7%
    Tax amt $32.15
    Total payment $491.49

The dealer quoted me $496, kinda close. I still need to ask them to apply the auto pay 0.00010 MF discount and I read that is a good option to include the 2 visit service package for $750 (residualized). Since the maintenance is every 10k miles, they third one will be on MB. Thanks for all your help BTW

I get the same payment you do (well, I'm a penny off due to rounding). About $7/mo savings with AutoPay.

If the prepaid maintenance is residualized, then it's a good deal.

@Michaell If the prepaid maintenance ($760) gets residualized into the MSRP. I need to also added to the adjusted cap cost correct. and calc from there? On the other hand, is there other lease package I need to be aware of with this MB C300. I typically dont drive much and usually take great care of cars inside out, including wheels.

Yes, add that amount to the cap cost, so it gets residualized.

  • Hello, Michaell. Are you able to provide me with the current RV% and MF for a 2017 Mercedes C300 base trim?
    I've got one targeted:
    MSRP: 40,425
    Sell: 31988
    $0 down
401/mo without Security deposits or Autopay
    .00121 MF
    57% rv

I'm doin the math and it seems the dealers monthly doesn't match what I'm getting. Textbook dealer BS? Or maybe I'm making a mistake

  • 15k/36 month btw

Also, Acquisition fee appears to be marked up to 1095 LOL.
    80 doc. fee
    CA state dmv 349
    Tire fee 8.00
Hmm adjusted cap cost is 32938
    What do you think?

.00121 MF and 57% is correct for 36/15

At that adjusted CAP, I get $343/mo.+tax

What is the amount due at signing?
