2017 Honda Civic Prices Paid and Buying Experience
Hadn't seen this topic posted yet, but I'm very interested in what experiences you all have had. If you could give the price paid before taxes and registration it would be most helpful for comparisons from different states. Thank you!

Anyone else shopping and have numbers to report?
Going by other posts (mostly the sedan) and considering that DC is in an aggressive dealer area, I think you can do better. The inventory seems "adequate". Dunno, seems to me like your quote is about $1,000 too high.
I dunno, are the coupes that much more in demand? Anyone?
It varies, but the usual range is 8 to 12% off MSRP. I think you may be hitting the "all new 2017" syndrome.
If you can wait a bit, try updating your quote at the end of the month. Might save you a few hundred more bucks.

I've just been quoted $3000 off MSRP on a 2017 Touring Sedan in Southern California using the Edmunds pricing tool. Contacted the dealer and confirmed the price is valid and there doesn't seem to be any funny business. Still, this is my first time buying a car and I'm nervous that a price $1500 below invoice is too good to be true.

The quote I got so far is $21,232.23 out the door. Does this seem right? The lease offer with that price is $235.32. I heard there will be new offers rolling out on July 6th. Is this a good price or should I wait two weeks?
I'm also looking around for a touring sedan in socal. what's the lowest you've gotten so far and where may I ask? it's been hard to find the touring trim lately so the prices isn't as low as I would like it to be.

A Civic sedan cvt EX 2017 and civic hatchback sport manual 2017? Thx
Here's how it went:
I wanted a Sport M/T in Sonic Gray. Not easy to find and it's too late in the year to order a 2017 from the factory (or so they said; I didn't buy it, but whatever). The dealer did have a black and a red one slated to come on the lot in the next month. I was on the fence about another red civic (I had a 2009 Si Sedan in Ralleye Red) but I loved the sleeper look of the Sonic Gray. They located one at their sister dealership that they could dealer trade for, so we started negotiating.
They knocked $1800 off MSRP right off the bat...bringing it to $20,793 (MSRP included $875 destination and $233 VIN Etching as the price seemed to start over MSRP at $22,575). I was looking to buy this time, so I had to take taxes and fees into account. I told them I didn't want to pay over $20,000, and had payments in mind under $350/mo 60 months with zero down. They came back at $20,500. I said to chop the VIN etching and that I was ready to talk OTD pricing. $21,000 OTD was my offer. They came back at $22,000. I told them I'd come back in December when my lease is up as we were in no hurry to buy.
Final deal came around; $21,500 OTD with $500 down and they would take my lease back early and cover the $505 in payments left (probably absorbed by Honda Financial). I don't know what the final selling price of the car is yet, so I'll update you after I sign final paperwork.
Here was the kicker. They didn't tell me where the car was coming from and the key point that they were sending a driver to drive it here....to the tune of 350+ miles being put on my brand new Civic. This changed the game for me and I was not happy. Then they tell me they can't do 0.9% as they promised the day before...but only 1.79%. I said it wasn't going to happen. Then I find out that the car is already being driven from dealership A to dealership B (the sister dealership), so the car already will have 240 miles on it before it makes its' way here from Indiana (another 200-300 miles). At this point I'm LIVID. I told them that they keep my payment at $354 (as we agreed) for 60 months and they put the Civic on a trailer and transport it here or the deal is off. Salesman came back and said they didn't know how they would do it but they would do it. I told them if I see a penny above $21,000 on that bottom line on the contract at signing, I was going to walk. I had already put my $500 deposit down.
So at the end of the day, my estimation is that the actual car price will fall in the mid to high $19k range, as we have 5% tax and title and license/doc fees will eat up another $400-$500. Will keep you posted after I have her (or don't!) ;-)
It seems that most of my offers(through emailing dealerships and through edmunds.com) Have common annoyingly at roughly the same price- between 18400-18800.
This supposed to be a great price. Truevalue comes in at this price, but there are getting the 2018s in close to a month from now.
Oh, however, one came in at 17890 and 2 dealer I contacted to help me beat that price said 'it was too good to be true' and that ' they would tack on extras when I get there'. This got me nervous, but they could be also playing me.
MSRP is at 20415 for this. I can still wait, but then again the .9% financing expire soon.
Does anyone think what I getting is a deal or should I wait longer? (I can)
If it's not, don't take it. Pretty simple. Easier than listening to another dealer that isn't willing to beat or match it.
