    Hey everyone,

First of all, thank you all for your time on here really appreciate what you all are doing, very helpful threads. Anyway, interested in a 2017 CR-V for my mother, looking at the touring model but per what I've been reading seems like Honda has a high money factor and no special interest rates. Does that make this a bad time to purchase or lease? Wanted to lease to own and save money with taxes but don't know what to expect now. Can anyone offer some help? What can I expect to drop off MSRP, should I use Costco sales instead or trucar? Is leasing to own not the best option to go? As of now I'm trying to budge a dealer out here for a touring with 2,500 down and a payment close to 350 in SoCal. For the 350 they want me to take a EXL but that's not what I want. Would appreciate any input.

    Thanks guys!!

This forum was a great help to me. Just bought 2017 CR-V EX AWD in central NJ  for 26033 plus 1790 tax and about 716 in doc and dmv fees. OTD price was 28538. I emailed at least 6 dealers in NJ and  PA near home / work which is far enough from NYC but most still hung tough since its a very popular model. I am happy with my purchase. Got my own financing in advance so it was a relatively quick and painless process. Only weird thing is some banks want a VIN now to lock in the loan so I had to get a little creative on that but it worked out fine.

Hi I'm in NC and looking to buy the Honda CR-V EX-L FWD No Navogation for an out the door price of $28,000. Has anyone recently bough this model for a price close to that, and if so what dealer?

I know spring is a tough time to buy, and I am willing to wait until fall if need be.

However do you guys think that this OTD price is feasable?

That's approximately 7% off MSRP, and it might be tough to get. If you do get that, watch for fees. We're lucky here in southern Ohio that Honda dealer fees are under $300 for doc. and license/title.

    Hi,

i picked up my 2017 EX-L CR-V without navigation on Tuesday from a dealer in Scotia NY (near Albany NY).  They matched the price of a dealer in Yorktown NY and sold the car for 29,000 (MSRP was 31435).

With a 2,000 trade in (which was a fair price for my old car), the OTD price was 29,300 approx with transferring plates.

hope this datapoint helps and good luck to all looking

I just bought a 2017 EX-L AWD CR-V for 27K with a 2K trade on my high mileage 2004 car. Seemed like a fair deal without too much of the silly dealership dance.

I am looking to purchase a CRV EXL (2 or 4wd doesn't matter). I am in 05403 South Burlington Vt., but can shop in Southern NH/ Mass if I have to. I am not much of a negotiator so I'd like to have a reasonable number in my head going in. I see some of the deals here...Wow!! Anyway, I looked at the CRV here with a MSRP of $31,535 and the salesman said he could go down to $30,200. I'm just getting started in the process, I assume that includes the destination fee. I will using my own financing so the other fees should be minimal ( I think)

What is a reasonable starting point for negotiation, I am in no rush but don't want to make this car purchase a carrier either. Should I offer 6% or 7% below MSRP or is Costco Auto Buy worth it?

Hey guys! The information in the forum has been awesome, however I feel like since the start of this thread back in Dec 2016, prices may be a bit different now that we're in June.

I'm looking for a 2017 CR-V EX-L AWD in the Houston, TX area. I've done some preliminary searching but any advice on what price point I should be targeting now that the car has been on the market for over 5 months?

I'd be curious to see what you would get on a Touring AWD model for San Jose/CA area they come down a little but not much :open_mouth:

Wasn't this the same dealer you walked away from after they would not honor their quoted price of $22,000.00? I assume $25630.00 was the best of your quotes, but dealer sounds shady based on your initial experience.

The price you got offered is ok. But I think you can have it for around 24,500 before TTL
I bought mine for 25,700. but mine is AWD which cost 1,300 more than FWD

What is your state? and how is your OTD price? I tried to offer $27K and he said that no dealers in CA will sell me OTD $27K, but I think I can get lower $28K.
  • blackhairblackhair Member Posts: 5
I bought my car in Central Florida, please read my prior post . I explaint every thing about my case. I paid 28.521 OTD . My state tax is 6.5%
I know CA tax is little more than 9% so add few hundred for the tax , but minus 1,300 for the 2WD.
In your case I think 27,500 is a good price. Hope it helps.

Costco Auto quote was $28,116 EX-L I thought it was a good deal tried to negotiate further since I needed two but the dealer said no more negotiation unless I came in which was annoying and costed him the sales. I shopped around and was able to get $27k EXL gun metal grey for me $2k down $340 a month 12/36 and $31,011.15 OTD for EXL w/navigation modern steel metallic for my brother at downtown Honda. Smoking deal my brother flew down from norcal to purchase as it was $1,500 cheaper than the best quote he got. Sam, Oscar and Edgar were rock stars. Super fast service adding the two cars to the insurance policy took longer than signing the docs lol. I suggest going there at the end of the day during the week seems like they are under a lot of pressure to move cars Sam was adamant that I drive the car off the lot and leave the old car there until the morning.

    Suele198,
Did you get the car yet ?
I hope you can get your CRV EX 2WD for ~ $27,500 OTD
My dealer tried to have me finance with them at 2.49%, I told them that I want 0.9%, but they said no.
Since I have very good credit , I went to my Credit Union, they have me finance with them for only 0.75%. I'm so happy to show the dealer. They can not believe I beat them by far in term of getting financing.
I paid my CRV EX AWD $28,521 OTD with NEW plate, if I did transfer plate, It would cost about $300 less

Just got my first car. Man, was it a rough 6 weeks back and forth with the dealers. Was trying to purchase 2 vehicles (Civic and CRV) for a steeper discount, but nobody was budging much and complicated the process even more. Thus got a Civic for my dad few days ago. Then got the CRV yesterday.

    2017 CRV EX 2WD
    MSRP $27635
Options: mud guards, trunk tray, wheel locks
    TTL and Other Fees: 732+88+579

Negotiated Out the Door Price: $26254

    Traded in Vehicle for $1000
    Added:
    HondaCare 8yrs/120K $1075
    Honda Maintenance 4yrs/60K $1000
    Total $27429

Not sure what to make of this deal. Honestly, I was exhausted trying to find the right model, color and price between 15 or so dealers. I really wanted the blue obsidian but compromised on the gunmetal which looks really good too. Also I felt the honda care and maintenance seemed like a good buy at the time with rough calculations but not really sure if I just made an impulse buy.

Thanks everyone for the help as I read every post from the first.

I recently got my 2017 CRV EX AWD Molten Lava in Hamilton, NJ. Price 25998 + 449 pro-pack - 5500 trade-in for 10 year old SUV = 20947 + 1440 NJ tax + 7.50 tire tax + 286 4-year registration + 369 doc fees = 23049 OTD. Life time oil changes and car wash included for free. Booked on 5/29 and picked up on 6/8 since the color was not in stock. I believe it was a good deal.

What's the reasonable monthly payment for EX-L 2017 zero down payment, AWD, no navigation? I am planning to ask for $400 per month, but not sure if this reasonable or even possible to go lower than this? I managed to negotiate the EX AWD to $380 per month including dealer accessories..
Chicago/Wisconsin area. Planning to finalize the lease this Monday (tomorrow).
Any help is greatly appreciated as I want to get done with it tomorrow!

Bought a new CRV EX-L AWD in Wisconsin.
We have a 2007 honda CRV LX AWD with 107700 miles on it. We had got an offer of $5000 from carmax for the car. On Sunday, driving home, the car lit up like a christmas tree with check engine and VSA lights coming on. We took it in and they said the oil pressure switch and assembly had to be replaced for $341. We took a new car for a test drive and after talking for awhile they offered the new car for 28986 plus 289 doc fee plus title and tax. They also offered $5500 for the trade in. Just went to another dealership that had the costco deal. Our current car lit up like a christmas tree on the way there again with the same lights, so apparently it was not fixed. Anytime you tried to accelerate above a slow acceleration it would just start jerking. We told them they could give us a quote on the tradein but that the lights just came on. The costco quote was 29840 plus 219 doc fee plus title and tax and the tradein was a real low ball. I needed to leave for volleyball and said we had a much better quote. They came back with 28912 for the new car and 6300 for the trade in as is so I took it. I believe they would have come down more on the new car and given me less for the trade in if the two transactions were completely independent. The net affect was the same.
