    MSRP and selling price?

What is the breakdown of the $2500 due at signing?

Do you know if this is a Toyota lease or if this is through a 3rd party bank?

Without the details, we can only guess.

You should check with your dealer about running the lease through USBank. I leased this exact truck in June, and USBank lease was over $100/mo.less. 82% residual for 36/12.
The numbers may have changed slightly, since then. But, the ad prices in the Cincinnati papers are still low and using USBank numbers.

I had to walk my dealer through it. I don't think they had used US Bank for a lease in the last 90 days.

Thank you! I was planning on doing this but just wanted to compare the rates available through Toyota Financial. I am a recent graduate so I would have the $750 rebate available. This is only through Toyota though, correct?

At least two dealers in my area have the truck available and can use US Bank. Any additional advise you might have would be fantastic. Thanks in advance!

@BuckeyeBrews First things first... do you own a brewery? If so, you can be my best friend. ;)

Okay... the really high residual is only on the TRD Sport 4X4 stick-shift. So, don't get in there and change up the model. The only other one that comes close is the SR 4X4 DC automatic. But, no point in getting that, if you can get the other one for the same monthly. Only if you have to have an automatic.

When I leased in June, there were only four of them, among the five Greater Cincinnati dealers.

Mine stickered for $35,763. Only options were tow package, tonneau cover and a rubber mat kit. If you want predator steps or any other options, try to find one that already has them, as they'll be residualized, and super cheap vs. adding them later. (of course, my son had to have predator steps, which I shelled out an extra $500 for, but don't tell anyone.. lol)

    Sale price was $34,507
    Acq.fee added $695
    Total CAP cost of $35,202

As you can see, the discount was only $1256 from MSRP, so you don't have to kill them to get this deal.
Residual was 82% for 36/12, and money factor was .00135.
I tried to find out the base MF, but was unable to... First offer from them had it at .00160. I'm pretty sure the base is about .00115, so they even made a little bit off the bump, if I'm right. Again, they don't have to lay down for you to get a good deal. Everyone can go home happy.

So, my payment ended up at $250.34/mo.+tax. I'm across the river, so tax is 6% on the payment for a grand total of $265.36/mo.
    Due at signing was $627.36
This included the first payment plus $112 for title/registration and $250 for dealer doc fee (maximum for Ohio dealers).

That's it.. I made this deal at the first dealer we went to, so my truck is bright blue... lol. At the time, there was gray, silver and Inferno in town. One each at other dealers and none at the last one.

Feel free to ask any questions.

Hope I can get some help with this. Dealership is offering a $627 payment for a 2017 TRD off road 4x4 double cab automatic. 36months 12k per year. Residual they are quoting is 67%, MSRP $36,834, capitalized cost of $32,834. Tag and title fee's of $126 and service charge of $599. They say they are quoting it with a MF of 0.00229. I also have a trade in that has $4445 negative equity, and I am putting $2000 down. With all that considered their bottom line payment is still coming up $627, but this seems high. I am in SE TN market.

    $4445 / 36 = $123/mo added to your payment.

Using the MSRP and cap cost, as is, I get $358/mo before tax. $481/mo after adding the negative equity. Long way from $627/mo

Ask for the adjusted cap cost, and a full breakdown of how they got from the selling price to that number.

Spoke to them again. Now they are at $614/mo.  Still with 2k down and carrying over $4445 in negitive and they are still saying 67% residual and 0.00229 MF. They sent me a quote sheet, here are their numbers line by line.
    MSRP: $36,834
    window tint and resistall: $1098
After $4k discount sales sub total is $33932
    trade allowance at $17000,
(then a column that says difference: $16932),
    tax: $188.28
    tag/title: $126
    dealer service charge: $599
    Total: $17,845.28
    Trade payoff $21,445
    Balance forward is: $39,290.28

I'm still coming up with $490/mo. Any idea what could be making up this difference?

The $1098 of dealer installed stuff is not residualized - that will add about $30/mo (before interest) to the payment.

Using their numbers, I now get $591/mo (with 7% sales tax).

So, I'm now closer to their number than yours.

Where is the $2000 of your cash in their numbers? Part of the $4K discount?

I am. I live in TN and this one is in Atlanta. The local dealership here was quoting even higher prices than the ATL dealer ship was. Does that make a difference?

Yeah... GA, SC, NC, AL, FL are all part of the Southeast Toyota Distributor area, and don't use TFS.
Stick to Tennessee, VA or KY.

As you can see, the low selling price in GA doesn't necessarily translate to a low lease price.

Got it. Could that be why they were quoting the residual at 67%, instead of 70-71%?

$600 for a dealer fee and $1100 for window tint. They are just killing you with crap like that. That's $50/mo. for almost nothing!

You aren't shopping across the state line, are you?

Yes... and, not only that. The residual may not be applied against the full MSRP. Making well-optioned units more expensive to lease.

    double cab, full 4 door
    78%/72% residual
    .00225 MF

Yes, that model has the best residuals.
See if the dealer can write the lease through USBank.
They have an 82% residual on this model for 36/12, with a lower money factor.

You can likely "encourage" your dealer to use US Bank by telling them you won't sign a deal otherwise.

The problem with that is that we don't have their numbers, so we won't be able to tell you if the MF used by the dealer is inflated or not.

I don't have the current USBank rates for that model.
The last residual we saw for that model was 74%. That might not make it worth going through USBank, rather than TFS.

If I use the invoice price as the cap cost, I get $260/mo before tax for 36/12, and $278/mo for 36/15.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost; if this is a 'sign and drive' deal, then it's likely some fees are being added in.

The USBank acquisition fee is $695. USBank leases include GAP insurance, so don't let the dealer sell you GAP, like they do with a TFS lease. There should be DMV fees of about $400, as well.

If I add $1100 to your price for those two items, that gets it to $296/mo.+tax for 36/15. That's still about $15/mo. light of their quote, but we are getting close. Get that adjusted CAP cost and an itemization. You are close to a really good lease deal.

Either a dealer has a relationship with US Bank, or they don't. US Bank is a national player in automobile leases, but that doesn't mean they do business, everywhere.

If a dealer says they could use US Bank, but they always use TFS, then you have to educate them.

Hi, looking for current residuals / MF for the following trims, located at 60076. 12K/24MO

4x4 V6 SR Double Cab Short Bed AT
4x4 V6 SR5 Double Cab Short Bed AT
4x4 V6 TRD Sport Double Cab Short Bed MT

I really could care less between MT/AT - from my understanding, these trim combos have the best residuals currently. Is TFS the way to go if I can put down MSD's or is US Bank better?

    Thanks,

The 24 month term is going to be way more expensive than 36 months.
On USBank leases, the residual is only 2%-3% higher than 36 months
On TFS, it's only 6% higher.

But, those are the best configurations, as far as residuals.
On a 36 month lease, the US Bank lease will always be substantially cheaper, even considering MSDs for TFS.

    Hi There,

I am looking at a 2017 Toyota Tacoma V6 4X4 SR5 Double cab in Massachusetts. However, I really like the offroad Access Cab, but don't want to pay a huge premium. Does the below sound about right or could I get a better deal?

Im looking to lease, and have been quoted for a 2017 Toyota Tacoma V6 4X4 SR5 Double cab a MF: 0.00225 with $2999 down gives me a payment of $269/month.

I believe MSRP is around $34K, Invoice according to KBB.com is like $31,600. Assuming a 73% residual value (which I have seen thrown around here) gives me $24,800 off MSRP. If I can negotiate around invoice pricing, I would be financing $7,200 over 36 months which gives me a payment of about $200/month plus tax and fees.

I think I should be around $250/month, right assuming I put enough down to cover tax and fees?

    Or am I missing something?
