It's either 64% or 63% for P+/Prestige.

Also, tax in MA is collected on the monthly payment, right? Not collected upfront and added into the CAP cost. Also, if the drive-off is $3250, you can't put all of that down as CAP cost reduction, as part of that goes to pay the first payment, etc.

You need a price that is reflective of a lease, without any items that don't apply (like that tax number). That should give you a base payment + tax. (you also need a bigger discount.. lol)

I figured the discount was poor, but they are saying I have my trade has $3k in negative equity, which I don't agree with. So I told them to make that go away and the $1000 discount was the best they could do.

I'm really wanting to order a car because none of the ones available in the NE are the specs I want. I know that the dealer won't give me a monthly payment, but can I still negotiate on price? If I do order, can I decide whether to do a one-pay or traditional lease when the car arrives?

Would it be safe to assume that the money factor will stay consistent?

Take your current car to a CarMax and have them give you a trade in number.

I did that a couple years ago and got the dealer to bump their trade offer by $2K, after I showed them the CarMax quote.

You guys are lifesavers - two questions.

1) Can you please provide the residual and MF on a 2018 SQ5 (premium plus) - 10k miles / 36 months for a Chicagoland lease?
2) Are the residuals and MF provided by Audi or are they set by the dealer with maximums provided by Audi? I received a dealer quote where the only way the math works is a 57% residual - P+ 10k miles/36 months which seems silly low.

1. 65% and .00195
2. The numbers we have are the Audi FS numbers; your dealer could be quoting a 3rd party bank, and we don't have those numbers to compare. Dealer can mark up the AFS MF for extra profit.

We always suggest 6% off sticker for Audi; no guarantees you'll get that on such a new release, however.

If you don't ask, you don't get.

Hey guys. Can someone give me numbers for 36/7,500 in dade county FL?

car that was priced msrp 65,490 premium plus
broker quoted me 2k out of pocket 650 month including tax...car is en route. SOunds a bit too good to be true but I am a long time loyal customer and already have a 2016 sq5. IS this possible or will the numbers likely change when it's time for delivery next month???

They quoted me 58% residual. When I questioned them, his response was "We are using US Bank and not AFS. We get a cheaper money factor using US Bank and Tax Credits. AFS is double the money factor and no tax credits." Funny... he quoted me .00195 for the money factor. Doesn't sound double to me. Waiting on a response for "tax credits".

In Texas, tax credits could be huge. Usually, 1.25% tax, instead of 6.25% tax.
Also, USBank acquisition fee is $695 vs. $895 for AFS.

I leased with USBank in June (not an Audi), and my rate was .00135, and I get the feeling that was bumped up a little bit.
Ask him for the actual money factor being used.

Ok... they were using .00195 for money factor but did say the top tier credit mf is .00161 which I think is high. But the residual of 58% versus 64% is pretty big. They are quoting me $999 per month with $2500 down. I'm just not seeing the logic behind using US Bank other than it saves me 5% on the tax.

5% of $60K is $3K savings. That's significant - over $80/mo.

But, the 6% dip in residual eats all that up, and then some. You should have them run the numbers with both US Bank and AFS to see which gives you a better payment.

It's possible that it doesn't save you any money, just allows them to book a larger profit, while giving you the same payment.

Rather than try to pit USBank vs. AFS, try pitting another dealer against this one.

If you suspect the MF is marked up, politely tell them you won't sign a deal unless the base MF is used. They know what the base rate is.
