I am just curious is it possible for you to explain how does dealer cash and lease cash work? Should I be seeing an $800 deduction in the price I am paying for the vehicle? Sorry for being ignorant I have never dealt with these before. Thanks.

You should negotiate your best price, then apply the incentive amount to lower the selling price by the $800.

I'm not tied to a dealer or salesperson. No real shopping, just a couple of test drives as the HR-V is a new model to us. As for the deal, I only know who I *don't* want to lease from because of promises made and not honored in the previous lease.

TMV is $23,811, so by that measure it is good.

Thanks for that info. We are close to leasing a 2017 hr-v ex-l in Seattle. They aren't offering the $300 dealer cash $500 bonus lease cash. I asked repeatedly if there were any incentives and they said no. Where can I find proof that that $800 in incentives is available?

The $300 is a factory to dealer incentive, and they aren't required to disclose that to you.
The $500 is bonus lease cash.

You want to freak them out? Reference program HP-L59 for the $300 and HP-L60 for the $500. See if that doesn't make them sit up and take notice. Talk to the finance manager, if necessary.

If that doesn't move them, it might be time to engage another dealer and get them to compete for your business.
