Michaell, the dealers are already taking orders for September, when do you think we can get the Sept MF/RV for X5 35i? (Does it usually have same MF/RV for all trims, msport etc?) Thanks.

We have 2017 X5 numbers, but nothing (yet) for the 2018. We only have partial documentation, as of today. Might get more information later in the week.

Didn't you just post the same thing over at 'post saying payment is $900/mo? So is it $900 or $890?
We are going to have to see the paperwork please.

Also your deal is for 2017, you should really post this in 2017 thread.
I'll head over there and ask 2017 model 5.0 lease numbers.

Wow, 4% jump in RV even with new X5 coming soon? Is that correct, if so that will save people a lot of money if they want to lease now.

They took $3000 lease cash away.. so it's pretty much a wash.
    2017 X5: 58% residual $3000 lease cash
    2018 X5: 62% residual - $0 lease cash.

I ran above numbers on a $85k 50i. Only $1 difference in payment.

Hello, what are the current RV and MF for 12k/36 and 15k/36 lease in NJ for 2018 X5 xDrive35i, xDrive35d and xDrive40e please? What would be the difference in monthly payment between 12k and 15k?

Take the MSRP, multiply by .02, then divide that by 36.

That's the approximate difference in payment between 12K/yr and 15K/yr

I don't have an explanation - base MF is .00152 for all BMW's, in September.

    No MSD program

    No MF reduction for fleet.

    Typo?

    Michaell,
When we are calculating the lease price, how do we consider the rebates?
Dealer offered 5% off, plus rebate which makes the sale price look like 10% off, but it doesn't reflect the same amount on monthly lease cost.
    For example MSRP $64245
    Agreed Sale $60700
    Rebate $3000
But I noticed rebate is added as Cap Reduction after Taxes are added to Selling price. So total cap cost is $61308.
Which results in $868 monthly payment based on your base MF above at 55% RV after 36mo (15k).

Thank you, does other manufacturers do the same, like Audi for example? Or do they simply give you $ off MSRP and that's all? Because I am having a very hard time calculating BMW's incentives in my calculation. At what stage do you put the incentive, since they seem to be taxed differently, A $3000 incentive ends up looking like half of that in savings. they plug in so precisely that on paper you just got $9000 off MSRP, but monthly payment is still much higher.

The $3000 is used as a CAP cost reduction. Treated the same way you would a downpayment. Other than paying tax on it (like a downpayment), it reduces your payment, dollar for dollar.

Thank you for the explanation, now it makes total sense, I was not clear on one thing and I didn't realize dealer squeezing in the $925 bank fee in there! I totally forgot about that. Might be worthwhile to pay the bank fee upfront which can make a big difference in payment.808 would go down to $778 for example on 64245 MSRP, 59000 sale ($58,977) - 8.2% off, minus $3000 rebate, 0.00152 / 55% , 15k/36mo, gives us $808/mo but paying 925 up front would give us $778/mo. Our 1st month would be 925+778+doc+dmv+tax on cap reduction, slightly under $2000.

Hi - I've seen the comment that only minimal money should be paid upfront on a lease because it is at risk if the car is totaled or stolen. Would the same be true of putting down Multiple Security Deposits? Is that also not a wise thing to do for the same reasons?

No, MSDs are encouraged. If something happens to the car, those monies are refunded.

But, BMW suspended their MSD program this past spring.

State is NJ, MSRP is $69,700 and I think the sale price was around $62,300. There is no cap cost, just fees and taxes upfront. Although I will most likely roll the tax in, why pay 3 years upfront if I don't have to. With tact comes to $815 per month.

    .00152 and 59% for 36/15

With the prices given, I get $745/mo

We recommend you roll the tax in - ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, with taxes and fees added in.

We recommend you roll the tax in - ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, with taxes and fees added in.

Thank you Michael, you mean, ask for the payment that will be made up as follows: $765+(bank fee+doc fee+taxes)/36?

59% for 36/10. Looks like residuals have dropped for the X5

Keeping the same rebate of $3K as with MY17 is not going to work with lots of buyers unless they bump up the rebate to 6K. Do you recall when did they bump up the rebate to 6K for MY17?

Any other option credit or incentives on MY18?

Do you happen to know the RV & MF on 36/12 for the X5-M? And does the M have a lease credit available?
    Thanks!
