Hi, this is gonna be my first lease ever. Please advise if this is a good deal. I live in Socal

Leasing a 2017 GLE 350 in Georgia with MSRP 63,270 (Premium Package 1 with Parking Pilot, Panorama Sunroof, and Saddle Brown Leather.
CAP Cost is $58,270.
Sales Tax: $2093.91
Dealer/State Fees: $594
Negative Equity on Trade: $4,000

36 mo, 12k miles with $8000 down at $774/mo.

They are telling me that MF is .00096 and RES is 54.00.

Is this a bad deal? With 8k down to absorb the negative trade, I am concerned that the numbers seem a bit off. Maybe too much holdback?

54% residual is correct for 36/12.
The money factor is marked up from .00036, assuming RWD.
Must be getting some sort of trade-in credit on the taxes. Otherwise, tax would be closer to $4000.

You need the adjusted CAP cost. That's the number with everything added, and your downpayment subtracted.
Not only is the money factor marked up, they haven't mentioned the $795 acquisition fee (probably marked up to $1095). There might be other items added that they haven't disclosed.

The marked up money factor is adding $56/mo. to the deal.

I just got a quote for 2017 GLE350 4matic.

MSRP:60625; 12% off,
MF=0.0003 after 4 MSD,
36mon/12000miles, residual:54%.
acquisition fee: $1025.
Monthly payment: 635 (tax included) but NOT include doc fee, title fee and acquisition.

Is it a reasonable deal?

Looks like the dealer marked up the MF, before applying the MSDs

You should be able to use 3 MSDs to bring the MF down to .00007, but you may not get as big a discount from sticker.

We suggest you add the doc fee and acquisition fee into the cap cost and make them part of the lease payment.

What state and tax rate is this?

I asked what is due at signing and he said $4,289. I asked if that is all that is owed at signing, no other costs/fees and he said "yes".

That's a lot of up front cash; ask them for a breakdown.

We suggest you only pay the first payment and DMV or registration costs when you sign the paperwork; add all the other taxes and fees into the lease payment.

The "other upfront charges" is the acquisition fee, which has been marked up from $795

Add that and the upfront taxes to the adjusted cap cost.

Your payment will go up, but your out of pocket will go way down (right around $1000)

But, that's just a guess; I'd ask for the specific breakdown of how the dealer got from the $60,016 selling price to the $65,155 price.

Just because the dealer shows a "total" price, that doesn't mean it's the actual adjusted CAP cost.
Plenty of dealers will show the retail price,as though it was a sale, then show the monthly lease terms separately, without any itemization of how they came up with the numbers.

Ask for the adjusted CAP cost

Your tax rate of 8% is applied against the sum of the payments, not the adjusted cap cost.

Hey y’all. Anyone have an info on what lease numbers should look like for loaners? I have a deal for a 2017 GLE 350 loaner with 4K miles on it. They are offering me 16% off MSRP, .00028 money factor, and keeping the residual at 54% for 36/12k. Is this a good deal? What kind of discount should I expect on loaners?
