With those numbers, I get $571/mo plus tax.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost, and make sure you understand what was added to and subtracted from the selling price to get that number.

I thought one security deposit brought the MF down to .00200

Thanks! The manager of the dealership I'm working with showed me a binder that stated 0.0021 MF and 58%. 0.002 and 59% for a 24 month/12k lease. Does that sound right?
He quoted me $42870 purchase price. I have a trade in worth $6K after the bank note is paid off. He said he wasn't charging me any dealer fees, and tax, title and docs are not included in the purchase price. He did say he had to charge a $640 acquisition fee. I was quoted $516/month. When he saw the look on my face he did say he would lower it to $499/month. Does this sound right? Sorry, I've never leased or traded in a car before.

The Honda numbers are a little confusing. The base MF is .00210, unless you pay a security deposit, which brings it down to .00200.

The base rate for 24 month leases is .00300, so far as we can tell.

The acquisition fee for Honda is $595; was not aware the dealer could mark it up.

The number you want from the dealer is the adjusted cap cost - this is the selling price plus any taxes or fees you aren't paying up front.

NY taxes the sum of the payments; we suggest you add them to the adjusted cap cost.

If a 10K mileage allowance is offered in NJ, then 60% is correct for 36/10 for the Touring.

Yesterday, I was quoted .0033 MF with 60% residual on a 2018 Oddysey EX-L w/ NAV & entertainment. This is N. Cal. 94563. What!?!? That's 7.44%, and i am top credit score (literally, 850 out of 850).

I've reached out to the manager for more info about MF rate. Could you supply rates for 36mo/12k in 94563?

Negotiated sale price: 43,316
Cap Cost Reduction: $1000
Quote: $630 per month

I ran the numbers using multiple lease calculators and my monthly is coming close to $571 (inclusive of NJ tax). So any help with validating my calculation over theirs would be much appreciated.

What is the MSRP?
What is the total amount due at signing?

The MSRP is: $47,610 (including the destination fee)
They did not give a total number due at signing. But they did say $1000 downpayment. Will update once I check back with them.

Also they did not provide any acquisition fee. I suspect they have tacked on some other fees that they have not disclosed or my calculations are wrong.

Make sure you understand the total out of pocket - $1000 down and $1000 out of pocket are not the same thing.

Yes, review all the paperwork carefully for junk fees. And, don't be afraid to get up and walk away if you aren't comfortable with any of the numbers, or they aren't explained to your satisfaction.

Need an adjusted CAP of about $45,700 to get to $630/mo.
So.. about $2400 above their sale price

That's about right.
$595 acquisition fee
$300 DMV fees
$300 dealer/doc fee
Tax..

Of course, I didn't figure in any CAP reduction, because we aren't certain of the due at signing amount.

Do people roll the tags and title fees into the lease? I was trying to keep them out of the lease. I can include it for the calculation to confirm the numbers.

Based on the quote they gave me it already includes the doc fee of $399. Tax was also already included in the quote. So it should be acquisition fee and DMV fees only that I can see. Which means $900. Which still leaves about a $1500 gap in the calculation. Thanks for your help. I am going to press them to see where this is coming from.

If you don't know the amount that is due upfront, then you can't say what's rolled in, or what isn't.
