Tow Test Recap - 2016 Tesla Model X Long-Term Road Test
We towed a Happier Camper trailer behind our 2016 Tesla Model X for 1,000 miles and came away loving the trailer but hating the realities of range and recharging.

-like the cyclists themselves, the Model X is serious about using routes that minimize steep grades - makes it easy for support vehicle to stay with the group!
-vehicle has room inside to hold bikes standing up, and the trailer hitch is great for mounting a bike rack - in fact, it's the only plausible use for a trailer hitch on a Model X, as this blog entry conclusively proves.
-due to the number of calories touring cyclists burn, they have frequent need to fuel up at restaurant areas...and so does the Tesla! Win-win!
-Tesla's advanced Autopilot feature figures hugely in this scenario, since the 4500-calorie/day Tesla lifestyle would wreak major havoc on the health of any human driver, but hey - no problemo! Win-win-win!!!
-Due to the Model X's extremely slow average speeds, there is a minimal tendency for the support vehicle to outpace and get too far ahead of the cyclists. Feature, not a bug!
-Tesla name already has major street cred with low-environmental-impact-interested groups such as avid cyclists. Slam-dunk!
Trying to see a downside here...think we have a winner!
