    Hello,

I am being offered a factory order for a 2018 S6, P+ at Invoice + any incentives offered at the time of delivery. "Invoice" is a loose term these days but I have verified I am being offered the 2018 order guide invoice price.

Is this a good deal for a factory order?
Should I/ can I do better?

    Thank you.

If it's a lease, you should ask them to guarantee you the base money factor at time of delivery, as well.

In my experience, invoice is MSRP minus 6% on an Audi. Is that close to their price?

Got it, will ask to guarantee base money factor.
MSRP for the spec I am looking to build is $78,600, I was quoted at $73,170 (which is exactly how Invoice is priced on the order guide I have) so looks like 7%.
    Is this a good deal?
Aside from an inflated MF, is there another catch to watch out for?

    Thanks

Fees sound standard ($138 Doc Fee, $140 Registration, title fee, taxes etc.).
According to the sales rep there is NO Dealer or Acquisition fee. How can that be?

I will be placing an order Monday.
Thank you very much so far. I will ask for further assistance when the car is inbound to confirm lease numbers and incentives.

Every AFS lease has an $895 acquisition fee. When you get info like that, it should make you pause and re-evaluate everything else they tell you.

Yes I agree, generally speaking I do take 100% of what a car sales rep says with a grain of salt but perhaps the lack of knowledge is also a contributing factor here.
He may be new or not that honest... but wouldn't you agree that simply the fact that his sales manager agreed to invoice pricing on a factory order, and they have presented it to me with a dealership signed order draft is a good start?

I will proceed with caution, ask again and try to get a sample of lease/ finance agreement to look for any unexplained fees/ charges.

Thank you again for your advice and information.

Selling price is 74k, and his monthly has come down to 1137. He’s saying money factor is .00195 for 42/10?? 2500 is supposedly drive off, plus some cap cost reduction I guess.

    Thinking about how to counter.....

    Appreciate the help :)

Politely tell them you won't sign anything unless it has the base MF.

Also, get a full breakdown of the $2500 - want to ensure there are no junk fees hiding in there.

Is it true that MF can variate based on someone's credit score?
  • MichaellMichaell Moderator Posts: 240,916

Is it true that MF can variate based on someone's credit score?

    Yes, that is correct.

The numbers we quote are for top tier credit. The lower your credit score, the higher the MF will be.

Can you please assist with validating the lease payment? (surprisingly) I'm getting a lower payment than the dealer:
    18' S6 P+ 7500, 36 m
    MSRP $78,600
    Negotiated price $73,441
    Loyalty $2000
    Marketing allowance $2000
    Selling price: $69,441
    MF .00081
    Residual 55% (with Audi Care)
    Taxes (NJ) at 6.875%: $2,316
    Added: Audi Care $1,169
Down payment (already made for the order) $1000

Dealer is coming up with $922

Also, what are your thoughts on MSDs?

    Thanks

What is the adjusted cap cost?

    We encourage MSDs.
There was a $1200 cap cost reduction in cash in the quote above that is now taken out.
Now, with 0 Cap cost reduction, dealer is quoting $957

On the deal breakdown sheet, they are using the $4000 incentives in a way I am not sure that is to my benefit:
    Negotiated price: $73,441
Less $2000 Loyalty: $71,201 (off by $200 not sure why)
    Acquisition fee: $895
    Audi Care: $1,169
"Cap fees" (explained as NJ tag and license): $700
Gross (and) Net Cap Cost: $74,260

    Terms total:
    Depreciation: $31,040
    Lease/ Rent charge: $3,426
    Total payments: $34,467

    Upfront Charges
Advanced payment: $957 (first month I guess)
    Doc fee: $138
    Upfront fees: $5
    Upfront taxes: $2,319
    Initial payment: $3,419

So dealer says the $2000 marketing allowance + my $1000 deposit comes in and cash due at signing is: $419

Would it be better if I pay taxes upfront or reduce Cap cost with cash?
For some reason Dealer is encouraging NOT to use MSDs, saying that MF is low to begin with and won't make much difference?

    Please advise,
    Thanks

Is it true that MF can variate based on someone's credit score?

    Yes, that is correct.

The numbers we quote are for top tier credit. The lower your credit score, the higher the MF will be.
    Thank you.
Can you please assist with validating the lease payment? (surprisingly) I'm getting a lower payment than the dealer:
    18' S6 P+ 7500, 36 m
    MSRP $78,600
    Negotiated price $73,441
    Loyalty $2000
    Marketing allowance $2000
    Selling price: $69,441
    MF .00081
    Residual 55% (with Audi Care)
    Taxes (NJ) at 6.875%: $2,316
    Added: Audi Care $1,169
Down payment (already made for the order) $1000

Dealer is coming up with $922

Also, what are your thoughts on MSDs?

    Thanks
What is the adjusted cap cost?

    We encourage MSDs.
There was a $1200 cap cost reduction in cash in the quote above that is now taken out.
Now, with 0 Cap cost reduction, dealer is quoting $957

On the deal breakdown sheet, they are using the $4000 incentives in a way I am not sure that is to my benefit:
    Negotiated price: $73,441
Less $2000 Loyalty: $71,201 (off by $200 not sure why)
    Acquisition fee: $895
    Audi Care: $1,169
"Cap fees" (explained as NJ tag and license): $700
Gross (and) Net Cap Cost: $74,260

    Terms total:
    Depreciation: $31,040
    Lease/ Rent charge: $3,426
    Total payments: $34,467

    Upfront Charges
Advanced payment: $957 (first month I guess)
    Doc fee: $138
    Upfront fees: $5
    Upfront taxes: $2,319
    Initial payment: $3,419

So dealer says the $2000 marketing allowance + my $1000 deposit comes in and cash due at signing is: $419

Would it be better if I pay taxes upfront or reduce Cap cost with cash?

Pay the taxes and other fees up front - it's OK to use the incentive money for this.

MSDs will allow you to reduce the MF; .00081 is not that low that MSDs wouldn't help.

Can you confirm the monthly payment math adds up and everything is kosher?

I get $957/mo with those numbers; be curious to know what cap cost and MF the dealer used to get their $922/mo quote

$922 is what they came up with initially, $957 is actually exactly what they came up with when the $1200 cap cost reduction was taken out so I guess their math is good.

    Thank you for you help
