Hello- I'm new so please forgive me if I ask weird questions...this is my first lease and I am NOT a finance person!
#1) Can I please get lease numbers for MF and Residual for the 2018 Kia Sportage (4) models total- Illinois- 36 mo/ 10,000 mi
EX FWD- Base and Premium Package
LX FWD- Base and Popular Package (Wasn't sure if the options matter??)
These all have $2000 incentive correct?

#2) I am having difficulty calculating the sales/use tax for Chicago...can you help with this? I have a quote from the dealer for a 2017 Kia Sportage LX, which shows I owe $1802.37 (added to the Gross Capitalized Cost), but also adds the 9% Chicago tax ($27.70/mo) to the lease payment (307.74). Here are some additional details listed on the quote: 36 month/12k miles, Agreed value= $25,257, Gross Capitalized Cost= $28047.52, Capitalized cost reduction= $4000 ($1k down+ 3k incentive?), Residual value= $14422.80, Total of base monthly payments= $11078.64
I can't seem to figure out what the tax percentage should be added to the 2018 price because I don't know how they arrived at that figure ($1802.37).

Packages and options do not matter.

IL taxes the sum of the payments - that is the $1802.37

Chicago taxes the monthly payment - that is the $27.70/mo

Do you know the IL tax percentage? That is the part I am trying to figure out so that I can apply it to a negotiated price to get the payment.

Thank you! The dealer we are working with says Kia’ MF is .0022 with no mark up. Also 61% RV. Why the difference? Zip code in Wi is 54301.

They guy also claims Kia does not have 3% holdback as we discussed reduced capitalized cost. Is this correct?

No idea on holdback. I've never found it productive to give your reasoning behind your offer price. Just gives the salesperson another avenue to beat you down.

We only have one region's numbers. It's possible that the money factor is different in Wisconsin, but it seems doubtful that it would be that much different. Residuals tend to be national.

It's always good to shop another dealer, to see what they have to say.
