Car buying advice needed! Mazda CX 5, Honda CRV, or Subaru Outback?

Alright people, I've been trying to decide what car I want to buy for 8 months while I waited for my 1998 Volvo V70 to die. The Volvo has passed and we're moving on to something a little more youthful (I'm 22).

Three things I'm looking for in a car:
1) Reliability
2) Safety
3) Reasonably priced ($13k-$14k)

...nothing novel here. Pretty standard.

Deciding between
1) Mazda CX 5
2) Honda CRV
3) Subaru Outback

...all within 2013 range and less than 80,000 miles.

My questions for you:
1) Are there any other vehicles I should be considering?
2) Which of these cars are going to be the most reliable?
3) Which of these cars will look best with a golden retriever in the passenger seat?

^just kidding about #3. Sort of.

Help a girl out, thanks!

    1. You might want to add the Toyota RAV4 and Subaru Forester to your list
    2. Toyota and Honda have the best reputation for reliability, but will likely be the most expensive to obtain
    3. I have dachshunds, so can't help you with big dogs

Dog should be in the back seat!

Options are fine, but the crv and subaru have such strong resale, you won’t get as much for your money. Take a look at Ford Escape too.

The Toyota RAV 4 is what their legendary reliability stands upon to live on through 2018.

How many miles per year do you drive? Are you open to leasing?
