I noticed looking back at the 2017 MF and RV quotes for various months for the CLA AMG, that as time progresses the MF goes down as does the RV, it looked to be that the best time to lease was in January-march. The money factor in January for a 2017 AMG was .00077. My question is, in January 2018, is it reasonable to expect the MF to be lower than what it is quoted at now which is standard or .002 for the 2018 CLA AMG? I appreciate the feedback.

It is not reasonable to expect anything. Past numbers have no bearing on future numbers.

Money factor is partially reflecting short-term interest rates. The best time in recent memory to lease a car would have been back in 2008-2013, when short-term interest rates were near zero. Additionally, residuals will be generally higher when a new model comes out, as that model will not be changed for some time and therefore resale values won't be cannibalized by a new model for at least 5-6 years, which tends to be the product cycle for most cars. Hopefully moderators don't get mad at me. This is all generally speaking though, there may be deals and special incentives from time to time that defy my statement.

Looking for MF/Residual on CLA 250 4matic and CLA A45 AMG for 36/10k or 7.5k. I will be trying the friends and family discount, but excluding that what are typical % off MSRP for MB? Additionally, where is the sweet spot for mo/miles? Thank you!

    250 4Matic - .00055 and 59% / 60%
    CLA A45 - standard MF and 54% / 55%

36 months is the sweet spot.

Hi, once the numbers come out, could I please have the MF, residual, and any incentives for a 2018 Mercedes-Benz CLA 250 Coupe for Southern California. 24/10 and 36/10. Also, if there is an option for fewer miles (say 7,500). Thanks! What kind of discount should I shoot for off the 2018?

    Assuming FWD, .00066 and 62% / 59% for 24/10 or 36/10, respectively.
    Add 1% for 7500 miles

It is, if you are encouraging folks to lease the 2017 models that are still hanging around on the dealer lots

It says customer cash down but I am not putting down 858. According to my calculations, the payment should be roughly 366 including tax or did I do it wrong?

Also seems the acq fee seems marked up.

Use the adjusted CAP cost for your calculation, not the initial CAP. The adjusted CAP includes the $1095 acquisition fee and the $80 doc fee. (by the way, the acq.fee is marked up from $795).

    Then multiply the resulting payment ($366.67) x the tax rate (366.97 X 1.095 = $401.50)

This document shows you paying first payment and title/license fees upfront. ($858.50 total)

Nothing wrong with a loaner/demo lease. That looks like a good deal, but I'd want to see the numbers that add up to the adjusted CAP cost. That tax number is for a purchase, not a lease, and no mention of the acquisition fee, or money factor.

    Hi,

The money factor is .00038. Looking at the email, they're claiming there's a discount of $7003 because it's a fleet vehicle, but I will ask for a breakdown. Thanks for pointing out the tax. I'm guessing they taxed the price of the car instead of just the monthly payment, right?

Ok. My mistake. The dealer also sent me a Cash/Finance option which I included in my response (disregard). This is the information for the lease:

    Monthly Payment with Tax: $373.62
    Term: 36 months
    Annual Miles: 12000
    Excess Mileage Charge: $0.25
    MSRP/CRV: $41000.00
    Residual %: 58.0%
    Residual Value: $23780.00
    Lease Buyout: $23930.00

    MF - .00038
    Acquisition Fee - $795
    Vehicle Price is $33, 997.00

I'm getting a different number for the monthly payment. (I'm getting $364.25). Am I missing something?

    Thanks!

What is your take on fleet vehicles.  I got the following quote on a 2018 lease - cla 4matic w/ 3,000 miles on it.  Thoughts?

    addit'l info:

    MSRP:
    $41,000.00

    Adj. Market Value:
    $41,000.00

    Discount:
    $7,003.00

    Vehicle Price:
    $33,997.00

    DMV Fees:
    $170.15

    Documentation Fee:
    $141.00

    Tax:
    $2,719.76

    Delivered Price:
    $37,027.9
Nothing wrong with a loaner/demo lease. That looks like a good deal, but I'd want to see the numbers that add up to the adjusted CAP cost. That tax number is for a purchase, not a lease, and no mention of the acquisition fee, or money factor.
    Hi,

The money factor is .00038. Looking at the email, they're claiming there's a discount of $7003 because it's a fleet vehicle, but I will ask for a breakdown. Thanks for pointing out the tax. I'm guessing they taxed the price of the car instead of just the monthly payment, right?
They didn't really "do" anything. Those are numbers for a purchase. They didn't use that tax number for the lease. You need them to show you the numbers for a lease.

Ok. My mistake. The dealer also sent me a Cash/Finance option which I included in my response (disregard). This is the information for the lease:

    Monthly Payment with Tax: $373.62
    Term: 36 months
    Annual Miles: 12000
    Excess Mileage Charge: $0.25
    MSRP/CRV: $41000.00
    Residual %: 58.0%
    Residual Value: $23780.00
    Lease Buyout: $23930.00

    MF - .00038
    Acquisition Fee - $795
    Vehicle Price is $33, 997.00

I'm getting a different number for the monthly payment. (I'm getting $364.25). Am I missing something?

    Thanks!

What is the amount due at signing?
    First Payment: $373.62

    DMV Fees: $170.15

    Documentation Fee: $141.00

    Due at Signing: $684.77

    Thanks!

With 11% tax, I get $364.25/mo, as well.
They've marked up the acquisition fee to $1095.
Add $300 to the CAP cost, and you'll get the same payment they do.

$300 won't screw up this deal... still really good, but now you know.

hi michaell, can you please look over this.

10k 36 months, souther california, los angeles county, los angeles city,

    is this a good payment?
did they mess witht he mf?
did they mess with the resigual?

i feel like if they willing to give me this car at this price, they are willing to give it lower.

    thanks for the quick reply.

this is 0 out of pocket, 35 payments.

this is 0 out of pocket, 35 payments.

    .00066 MF and 59% residual
Subtracting the sales tax (that is the purchase option sales tax)
    Adding the $795 acquisition fee
Capitalizing the first payment (since zero due at signing)
    Assuming 9.5% sales tax rate

    I get about $348/mo.

That's pretty close.. Maybe, they marked up the acquisition fee by $300, but that's about it.

"i feel like if they willing to give me this car at this price, they are willing to give it lower."

    You can always ask..
