    Hi kyfdx.

I am looking to lease a 2018 Audi Q5 Prestige for 36 months/12k per year miles in the Chicago area. an you pls advise on the MF & residual and also the typical percentage off the MSRP for this car.?

The following is a reply that I got for a local dealer. Is this info correct? Thanks very much!

    John,

I ran the numbers at $1,000 over dealer invoice. I have to pay to ship two cars so at the end of the day, after I jump through Audi's 360 different hoops, and I pay True Car a referral fee of $400 I might make $350 on a $58,000 investment. Not sure why you are putting the blame on us as being high?

Residual is 56% which is $32,076
The Audi Acquisition fee is $895
Selling price including shipping is $54,843
Money Factor is standard rates of .001945

    Monthly depreciation $713
    Monthly interest $174

    sales tax $2,013.30
    doc fee $175.94
    new plates $221

Total of monthly payments with interest is $31,964.40

This is without the $2,000 down.

    .00169 MF and 55% residual for 36/12
56% is either for 36/10, or with AudiCare.

Looks like they've marked up the money factor some.
6% off MSRP is pretty decent for an Audi.

If they are doing a dealer trade for you, that isn't going to help your cause.

    Thanks.

Does this seem like a fair proposal?

    2018 Q5 Premium Plus MSRP of $52,150
Please see attachment for vehicle I used.

36 months 12,000 miles per year 58% Residual 0.00169 Money Factor
$529/mo. includes tax and no loyalty incentive.
Due at signing 1st payment, plates, and Acquisition fee and $4,000

Please let me know how this looks as it is based on True Car discount as well.

    sure, here you go.

So, the only thing that's included in the lease payment is tax, right?
Everything else, plus a $4000 CAP reduction is paid upfront?

If the tax is in the CAP cost, I get a selling price of around $47,200.
That's a pretty good discount for an Audi.
But, I wouldn't put an extra $4000 upfront.
I'd keep that in my pocket and just take the $639/mo. payment.

If my assumption is wrong, and you have to pay the sales tax upfront, then the deal isn't nearly as good.

according to his email, yes and yes to your questions above.

Amid those conditions, even with the $4895 up front ($4000 down plus $895 acquisition fee), is it a good deal?

    Thanks for all of this.

    It's $4895 + 1st payment and DMV, right?
So, more like $5700 due at signing?

Yes, it's a good deal, though as you can see, Audis are not cheap to lease.
