I get $645/mo before tax with those prices.

MF is .00156 - I can't seem to keep the BMW numbers straight, this month.

737 a month. No money down. good deal?? taxes included iowa 2800.. dealer said no way could go penny less... drive off with 1st payment taking out of 1000 deposit.

Awful deal. For comparison my payment on a 2016 340xi MSRP $62K is $575 before sales tax.. 36/12. $0 down lease I only paid the 1st month payment, license, and registration at delivery.

Michaell - Can you explain how the lease credits and loyalty credits work? If I am currently leasing a 2 series, will I be eligible for a loyalty incentive on a new 3 series? Also - Does everyone leasing a 3 series in March get a 3,000 credit on the 2018? This comes after the negotiated sale price? If lease credit is 3,000 and loyalty 750, would I get an extra 3,750 off my negotiated price? Thank you for your feedback and information.

    Yes, you qualify for loyalty.

Yes, $3000 lease credit for all 3-series

Total $3750 incentives to be subtracted from your best negotiated price.

To pay $575 before tax for a $62k 3-Series you need to reduce the cap cost and maybe add incentives by around $9,000 which is about 14.5% of MSRP, that seems like a lot. How did you do that?

You can compare a 2 yr old deal on BMWs today. I wish people would stick with today's facts and leave history at the door.

Just wanted to say thank you for all the work you do helping people make informed decisions. I am trying to get into a 2018 340 from my current lease which ends in a couple of months. I'm under on miles, so, with a pull ahead there shouldn't be any additional charges. I've gone back and forth with a dealer about a particular car and we are far apart on payments; wanted to see what numbers you have.

    MSRP: 57785
    discount: $5435
incentives: 3k manufacturer cash/750 loyalty/$1k from email about test drive x2 this weekend
    3 yr/36k miles

    Texas tax rate

With $1700 out of pocket for fees, 1st moths payments, and a small downpayment. I'm at $535/mo (which is what I had been targeting) and they are still at a little over $600. They have yet to share money factor with me and would prefer I just come in instead of communicate by email. I'm not really interested in going in if they can't get to that number.

Can you see what number you're coming up with? Do you have any advice?

Forget about the MF for a moment.

What cap cost are you using to get the $535/mo payment?

What cap cost is the dealer using for their $600/mo+ quote?

That might explain the difference. If not, then we can determine if there has been a bump on the MF.

I am not sure what they are using; the sheet they sent me has the msrp, their discount, minus the rebates (except for the extra 1k for test drive; I haven't done that yet) then plus taxes and fees for a final total of 52172.

The calculator I'm using does not have a cap cost on it. It has msrp, discount, sales price, fees, residual, tax calculator, down payment, and taxed/untaxed incentives/post drive off rebate

Add the fees and subtract the down payment from the sales price - that should be close.

If only the first payment is due at signing, that is a pretty good deal, relative to MSRP.

It's possible that the lease credits are different in your market. We don't have the incentive numbers for every market. It's a consumer rebate, so they can't play with it.

Howdy! I've got a dealer telling me the lease credit is $2000 and the loyalty credit is $1500 for March. Sales person says $3000 credit is only for purchase. I'm guessing he is "misinformed". Can you please verify these current incentives?

It's possible that incentives vary by market. There are over 30 separate markets, so we wouldn't be able to check. Those incentives are customer incentives from BMW. They wouldn't have any way or motivation to not give you the correct information.

Hi - Only 4 months (payments) off my lease on a 2015 335xi. Got an email from gen sales manager about turning in early. Was offered:

$3,793 toward new vehicle price ($1500 BMW loyalty, $2293 dealer loyalty)
    $350 lease acquisition fee waved

Can you guys tell me if

    1) It's worth an early turn in...

    2) What the MF and Residual is on a 2018 340xi 36,000 / 3yr lease? (New Jersey)

    3) I had an incredible deal I pulled together with the dealership last time. What is the best possible deal I could expect to get? My prior payment was $483 per month with approximately $3000 total drive off (cap cost reduction, fees, etc). MSRP on the prior car was $57,565 (M package, nav, black grill, luxury package)

    4) Is it better to get the M package or Shadow Sport package?

    Thanks!!!

    1. If they are taking your car back, with no fees or payments added onto the new lease deal, that is a good start...
    2. .00156 and 60%; $3000 lease credit and $750 loyalty
    3. We always suggest you target 7% off MSRP, then subtract any available incentives. We don't recommend large up front cash amounts - just first payment and registration costs
    4. Can't help you there; that's a personal choice.

    Hi,
So I'm wondering if I can lease a 330i if I'm on F1? The dealer told me BMW reject most F1 for doing a lease. What if I already started a job with proper income proof, have SSN, some credit history, and a not bad score? Would that increase my chance?

Also, is the following deal a fair deal?
    - 2018 330i (gray, with convenience package, heated front seat, blind spot detection)
    - MSRP $44,905
    - Rebates $4,405
    - Selling $40,500
    - Balance Due (estimate) $44,826
    - Lease: down $3,500, monthly payment $453 for 36 months

    Thanks.

    Hi,
So I'm wondering if I can lease a 330i if I'm on F1? The dealer told me BMW reject most F1 for doing a lease. What if I already started a job with proper income proof, have SSN, some credit history, and a not bad score? Would that increase my chance?

Also, is the following deal a fair deal?
    - 2018 330i (gray, with convenience package, heated front seat, blind spot detection)
    - MSRP $44,905
    - Rebates $4,405
    - Selling $40,500
    - Balance Due (estimate) $44,826
    - Lease: down $3,500, monthly payment $453 for 36 months

    Thanks.

We don't have any information on what will or will not qualify for BMWFS leases.

There is $3000 lease cash available on the 3-series, so the discount from sticker seems small when you take that into consideration. You want to target 7% off MSRP, before subtracting the incentives

And, we don't recommend large cash amounts up front on a lease; if the car is stolen or totaled, you lose that money.

What state and tax rate is this?

    Hi Michaell,
    Thanks for your prompt response.
I'm in CA, and I guess the tax rate is about 9%?

The dealer gave me a number (wholesale) $42,420 other than the MSRP $44,905. Do you mean I should target a 7% off wholesale price, before applying any rebates or incentives?

As for the down payment, I'm not sure what number is fair (having no sense on this number ... ). I heard some people can do a 0 down. But when I went to the dealers and told them I want to do lease, the smallest down they offer are always around $3k. So I should tell them I want to do a smaller down payment, right?
One question here: if I lower the down payment, the dealer is going to raise the monthly payment, right? How should I evaluate this trade-off?

    Thanks a lot!

Every $1000 less upfront adds about $30/mo. to the 36 month lease payment.

"wholesale" doesn't mean anything.. There is the MSRP and the selling price. Target 7% off MSRP, then deduct any incentives.

They all want $3000, so that the monthly is smaller, making it seem like a cheaper payment. But, you decide how to structure the lease

    I see! Thanks a lot!!!
On their price quote (purchase option) sheet, they gave me three numbers:
    Vehicle Price $44.9k
    AutoNation Savings $4k
    AutoNation Price: $40.5k
So the first one would be MSRP, and the second one would be % off of the MSRP, is that right? I'm not quite sure how to interpret these numbers.

Finally, how can I tell if a monthly payment is reasonable after I lower down the down payment? Some friend told me that I can divide the out of door price by 100. So a $44k out of door price resulting in a $440 monthly payment is fair. Is that right (roughly) ?

    Thanks.

That's almost 10% off sticker, which is really good.

Ah, the 1% rule. Good in theory, not so good in practice, as fees and taxes can make your payment higher than that mythical target. And, in some rare cases, folks can get a payment under 1% of MSRP.

Thank you for all your help!

Would need to know the MSRP on both cars

.00156 and 61%, less .25/mile for the demo miles
    $3000 lease credit

First quote in after some negotiation.

They don't have the exact car I am looking for but have a bit more expensive one (340i xDrive Exec Tier M Sport) for $61,015 (MSRP) that meets my needs with some added options. Regardless, I'm getting offered $632 monthly payment, $3,200 total drive off. This would cover my remaining 4 payments. There is no BMW "pull back" program right now for the lease payments.

Told I'm getting $4,500 in rebates. I was given their lease sheet and the MF and Resid both match what you guys gave me and my model.

    Thoughts?
