Hi, I received the following quotes from a NYC dealer for:

    440xi Gran Coupe
    M-sport package
    36mo/10k

    MSRP: $56,400
    Sale Price: $48,805.64
    MF: .00156
    RV: 57% ($32,148)

    Monthly payment: $589/mo.
    Zero down payment
    $4,090 due at signing

    AND

    430xi Gran Coupe
    M-sport package
    36mo/10k

    MSRP: $50,300
    Sale Price: $43,210.15
    MF: .00156
    RV: 57% ($28,671)

    Monthly payment: $516/mo.
    Zero down payment
    $3,786 due at signing

What do you guys think about these offers? Is this a good deal? This was an email quote only and I'm hoping to negotiate further in person. Do you think there is still money left on the table?

Thank you in advance for your help!

The MF, residual and payment math are correct.
There is a $3000 lease credit on these models.
But, your discount is slightly over 8%, before deducting the lease credit, so it looks pretty good.

Did you get a breakdown of the upfront money?
Are all of the charges legitimate? (I assume the tax is in the upfront money?)

Thank you! I will ask for a breakdown.

Yes, taxes are in the upfront money. Is it better to pay taxes upfront or roll it into the monthly payments? Will I be paying interest on the tax if rolled into the monthly?

Yes, you will pay interest on the tax if you roll it in.

But, a couple months ago we learned that if the tax is rolled in, it is subject to tax again. We didn't believe it until someone posted the relevant language from the NY Department of Revenue website.

Therefore, we suggest, for NY residents only, to pay the tax up front.

    Hi There!

Hoping someone could help me with a lease deal on a loaner 2018 430 Gran Coupe in Florida.

Car has an MSRP of $47,495 with a current internet price of $43,922 which is only a 8% discount. The vehicle current has 4,304 miles and has the premium package.

Dealer says the car is eligible $3,000 lease credit and $750 loyalty credit.

My goal is to get 18% off the MSRP to get the car to $38,496 and then apply the $3,750 in credits to drop the sale price to $34,746. Is this unreasonable?

Dealer is quoting me a 54.97 RV on the loaner and I'm not sure about the MF.

What lease would I expect to pay on this? Thanks so much for the help!

Yes, you want more than the current 8% discount. Not sure you can get 18%, but 12-15% ought to be achievable, before applying the incentives.

How many miles a year are you looking for? Whatever that percentage is, would be reduced by .25/mile for the demo miles ($1076)

Thanks for getting back to me Michaell! I think I'm looking to do 12K miles over 36 months.

Also, what money value would apply to this 4 series in Florida? Does that change with a loaner?

    Thank you!

.00156 MF - loaners qualify for this.

56% residual, less the dollars for the miles.

Hi, can I please have the RV, MF, and incentives for a 2018 BMW 440i coupe for 12k/36m and 15k/36m. I am also interested in how to structure the best deal if the vehicle was a service loaner and has a couple thousand miles on it. Thanks!

    .00156 MF and 56%/54% residual
    $3000 lease credit

A loaner has the same lease program as a new car. Reduce the residual by $0.25/mile (assuming it has less than 5K miles). Negotiate a low, low price.

11% off sticker (before incentives, I assume), is a good discount.

Base MF is also good, if you can get the dealer to agree to it.

Everything else is about standard for CA.

I'm trying to build a 4 series and talking to my dealer, it seems like MY18 production has stopped and I'd have to order a MY19 one.

The deal I've received is as follows:

    440 Gran Coupe
    36mo/10k

    MSRP: $60,195
    Sale Price: $55,150
    MF: .00156
    Residual: .57
    Tax rate: 10.3%
    Incentives: $1000 lease loyalty credit

    Monthly payment: $806/mo.
    Zero down payment
    $1,806 due at signing.
    How does the deal look?

My dealer claims that because MY19 is brand new, there aren't any lease credits yet. However, he predicts that lease credits will be available in the next 3 months before I sign. He says I should be able to take advantage of the best rates/incentives from now until July should they become available.

I'm pretty tempted to submit a deposit to have the car built. However, suppose if I find a better deal elsewhere as the car is in production and/or incentives are not available, how badly would I screw over the dealer if I just pulled out of the deal? As far as I know, the $1,000 deposit for the application is refundable and I'm not fully committed to anything until I sign the deal/take delivery of the vehicle.

If you order a car, then back out, they likely aren't going to give your $1000 back.
Either way, if you plan to keep shopping, then don't order a car. That's just wrong.

If you are leasing? Just find a car on the lot that meets your requirements. With the $3000 lease credit on 2018s, you can even get a car that's over your current budget, and pay less than on a 2019.

Suppose if I can't find my car to the specific requirements and that I'd like to build a car and have it ready by July, would it be worth it taking this offer? Should I assume I'll be able to take advantage of some lease credit in the next few months for a MY19 car?

That's a pretty big bet, believing what the salesman tells you about future programs and incentives.

New models (or a new model year) may not have the same level of incentives, especially if there are a lot of 2018 inventory still on the dealer lot.

MF is marked up from .00156

I get $757/mo plus tax with your prices and marked up MF

What state and tax rate is this?

MF bump is costing you about $17/mo

    Hello,

I've been quoted for 2018 BMW 440i Gran Coupe, company vehicle (3,410 miles). The car went on warranty in November 2017.

    Retail price- $58,390
    Savings - $5,310
    Rebate - $3,000
    Options- $887
    Fees- $340
    Sales Tax - $3,282 (6.25% + $97 Dealers Inventory Tax)

    Net Sales - $54,589

Based on my calculation, the car depreciated 7.33% off MSRP + $852 from 3,410 miles. The savings 5,310 is 9.2% of $58,390. Which leaves ~2% discount. I'm not happy with the deal.

Any suggestions, on this deal? I tried to push back and they don't seem to give any more discount.

    Agree with you.

For demo units, target 12-15% off MSRP, before the incentive.

The incentives that I'm eligible for should cover the taxes. I know it sucks to get a car here in texas.

Here are the incentives I'm eligible for in Texas for April 2018 according to BMWofDallas.com website.

Incentives ($6,500) - $2,000 Cash Back On Select BMW Models
Dealer Allowance: $3,000 Cash Back On Select BMW Models (for most of the models I'm looking at)
College Grad Offer : $1,000 Cash Back On Select BMW Models
Corporate Sales Offer : $500 Cash Back On Select BMW Models

I'm not sure if Dealer Allowance is considered under discount or its separate incentive. If its a separate incentive then I'll get 6500 on top of discount (12%-15%) on MSRP. But apart from that I'll get 2000, 1000, 500 for sure. Please suggest :)

What should Market Factor Be for PrePay Lease?
First off, the dealer is giving me a market factor of .00196 vs. the .00156 for standard lease, but for upfront lease payment, he is discounting it to .00166 (still higher than standard). Should I be getting .00126?

Hey guys - first time posting. I'm looking at leasing a 2018 440i Gran Coupe with the M package, etc. 10k mile lease, 36 mos, would like to do $0 down.

MSRP is $57,885. Dealer is discounting $2,894 and I qualify for an additional $2500 in incentives. I'm comfortable negotiating aggressively and would obviously like to get the best lease deal possible on this. I'm not familiar with BMW's pricing and markup schemes, nor their invoice on a car like this. What would be a reasonable lease deal on this vehicle?

They offered me $690/month with $2500 down. I think they can do a lot better even with $0 down.

    Thanks in advance.

    How many miles per year?

You want to target 7% off sticker, before incentives, so there is room to move on the price.

Regarding up front cash, we recommend only the first payment and any registration costs be paid up front; roll all other taxes and fees into the lease payment.

    10k miles per year.

    I think they had a $2000 lease credit + an additional $500 because I'm a USAA member.

Also showing $589 doc fee, $925 acquisition fee (which I think is standard from what I've read?)

    57% residual for 36/10

Acquisition fee is standard from BMWFS; the doc fee is on the high side and you should negotiate a lower price to offset it.

Lease credits can be regional, and we don't have many regions. It's a consumer rebate, so if they say it's $2000, then it's $2000. They can't steal it. It's on the paperwork.

Actually, it is $3000. They moved money around on the paperwork and stuck $1k of the lease incentive into the "discount" and then showed a $2k lease incentive. Gearing up to go in and do some negotiating
