That's a good question... .that, I don't have the answer to... With Mazda, it's likely to be dealer-based.
But, we don't see any differences, yet.. certainly, not anything worth traveling for.

The only reason I'd travel is to get better terms on the agreed to purchase price. In the past, even with shipping a car, this has saved us big money over the life of a lease.

I contacted a few dealers through Edmunds and got couple of interesting offers. One of them was more detailed as I spoke to the internet saleswoman. Here are the details:

Sonic Silver Mazda6 GT - 36 mo/10k

Market Value = $30, 683
Discount Savings = (- $1,618)
Selling Price = $29,065
Doc fees = $80
License/Title = $301.00
Tire/Battery/VTR Fee = $8.75
Other Fee = $29.00
Acquisition Fee = $595.00
Tax on collected items = $141.06
Total Cap = $30,219.81
Down payment = (-$624.81)
Rebate Savings = (-$860)
Net Cap = $28,735
MF = 0.00029
Residual = 55% ($16,875.65)
Base Payment = $342.64
Tax = $32.55
Total payment = $375.19 ($10 more if 36 mo/12k)
Due on delivery = $1000 ($624.81 down plus 1st payment $375.19)

I don't know and I will ask where is she getting the market value of $30,683 when the MSRP is $30,090. She told me that the dealership tinted the windows for $395.00, which should make the starting price at $30,485 only.

The initial offer I got through Edmunds from that dealership (before I spoke to the saleswoman) was for $29,230 (Machine Grey GT - MSRP $30,390) after 1,160 discount saving and $80.00 doc fee included. I didn't mention any offers to her, btw. She starts from higher price, offers more discount and lower selling price. Should I mention that she should start from $30,485 instead?

Meanwhile, also through Edmunds, I got a second offer (coupon) from another (near by) dealership for lower selling price. Same Machine Grey GT (30,390) but selling price is $28,230. That's before any rebate savings - $360 lease cash and $500 Mazda loyalty as current owner. I will definitely use that offer for negotiations.

Ultimately, I want Silver GT 36 mo/12k for $350/mo with tax.

I get the same payment, with those numbers. Only way to get to $350/mo is to knock another $1000 off the selling price. Given how new the 6 is, I'm not sure if that's possible.

Keep playing the dealers off against each other. Eventually you will get the best price from one of them.

I test drove the Grand Touring 2.5T today and got a quote of 415/Mo with Zero down for 10K Miles/ 36 Months.

The Sales advisor quoted a MF of 0.00029 and residual of 55%. However his selling price was same as the MSRP for the GT which was 30,390 USD.

Now I thought this was high and the sales advisor told there are no incentives yet so there should be better deals in coming months?

What do you feel is this a honest number to begin with? I feel its little high I am expecting somewhere around 300 to 330 $.

No discount? Shop more dealers.

Keep in mind, that there is a 3% lease tax surcharge in PA, so your sales tax will be 3% higher than your local rate.
