Which trim?

They offer shorter leases, but the terms are not favorable.

Question for you - you've been asking for a lot of numbers. Are you looking for the best deal?

If so, may I offer a piece of advice - the best deal isn't always the best if you don't like the car you've chosen. Perhaps a test drive of the ones you really like, then figure out the best deal.

I've seen a number of folks go after a killer deal, only to hate (or have their spouse hate) the car.

Just some food for thought.

Utah doesn't tax the full price on a lease, do they?
I think that tax amount is invalid, and only on a purchase.

Guess the luxury dealers in UT want to fleece every customer that walks onto the lot. You may have better luck shopping in Denver, and having a nice road trip home with the money you save.

I felt the exact same way! It's like a monopoly here in Utah as there is only one Jaguar dealer.

I was under the impression that you were unable to lease a car out of state unless you had residency in that state? That was the impression I was given when I contacted Landrover in California about leasing a car from them while living in Utah...

Nah, folks cross borders all the time to lease - we see it a lot in the NE (NY / NJ / CT), and also a lot of Las Vegas folks go to SoCal to find the right vehicle.

It's possible you encountered the one LR dealer in SoCal who doesn't feel they need to do business with someone 500 miles away. It's hard for them to take you seriously. Be persistent.

The dealer in Denver actually told me that Land Rover has some agreement that doesn't allow them to lease out of state. He told me the only state that you could do this was in Texas as there was some law that prevented Land Rover from putting this restriction in place. From what you are saying, sounds like he's not telling me the truth.

I've often heard that Land Rover discourages their dealers from selling to customers outside their market area. Not much Land Rover can actually do about it, but if you are financing or leasing through them, they will of course be able to note that. Whether legal or not, they can always pressure their dealers.

As an observation, that's a lot of money for only 5000 miles per year - roughly $1.60/mile, excluding gas, insurance and maintenance.

If purchased, it will be from a dealership in south eastern PA. They will be getting the vehicle we want, which is in Texas I think. 08070 is my zip. South jersey. Our current Mercedes lease only has 6500 miles on it after 3 years. So with only 5k a year, payment should be low $600?
