Considering 2018 X1 Lease

New member here. I'm considering a new X1 xDrive for my wife. I'm looking for Convenience Package, Premium Package, Metallic paint, Leather, Apple Car Play. MSRP comes to exactly $44,000 plus $995 D&H, so $44,995. In March 2018 the same dealer quoted me a car with slightly different features (Metallic, leather, convenience, pkg, etc) with a $1,306 lower MSRP of $42,694 (+$995) for $349/mo x 36 @ 10K miles with $4,244 due at sign. So, for the $44K config I'm considering now, what would the estimated payment be? I'd like to be in the mid-300's. His first offer to me on this car was $429 x 36 @ 10K, with $3,851 due. Seems out of whack. Would $4.2k due at sign be reasonable to get to $350-ish/mo? I know he can stack a few incentives. USAA, corporate fleet, BMW CCA, etc.

Thanks all!

Wow..thanks kyfdx for a thorough breakdown. I know the USAA incentive is $2K (posted on the website of an NJ dealer), and I'll look into the Corporate fleet thing as well. That might get me there. Taking into account the $349 quote from the dealer where the car is about $1800 cheaper than the one I want I can probably come close. Thanks again!

    What ZIP code?

Your "quote" from March looks suspiciously like the advertised lease, not a real quote with the actual numbers including tax, etc.

Do you qualify for all of those incentives?

Thanks for the response. I'm in 07016 in central NJ. The quote was an email from the rep bought a car from last year (2017 430 MSport xDrive). The email had the PDF attached of a vehicle from the locator, the detailed config. MSRP on the sheet was $42,695 + $995. The incentives I qualified for when I bought the 430 still apply..USAA, Corporate fleet (IBM retired - they took a copy of my retiree ID), BMW CCA. maybe another one I can't remember (AARP - ? ha ha )...The funny thing is when I submitted to the BMC CCA for the rebate, they turned me down saying I had maxed out on incentives!

So, on the $44,000 car I'd be happy with $350-ish/month x 36 @ 10K with about $4000 due at signing.

    THANKS!

The CCA rebate has a lot more qualifiers than it used to. And, since it actually comes from BMW, they can restrict it, however they want. I bought a CPO service loaner, last September.... and, no rebate allowed. Either under CPO or new, because it was an ex-loaner.

I don't have the details on a lot of those incentives, so let's just stick with the $2500 rebate, for now.

    $44995 MSRP
    -$3150 discount (7%)
    -$2500 rebate
    =$39345 selling price
    +$925 acquisition fee
    +$400 DMV
    +$400 dealer/doc fee
    +$1450 tax
    = $42,520 Gross CAP
    -$3500 CAP reduction
    = $39020 NET CAP

    $455/mo.
    $3500 + $455 = $3955 Due at Signing.

You'll need about $3500 in additional rebates and/or discounts to get to the $350/mo. range.
