    my local kia dealers are really pitiful; true to form. Tried to score a leftover 2018 optima LX and they would only go $225 under msrp on a 24k car. I have yet to respond to that ridiculous internet sales quote. i guess they haven't heard about poor sedan sales and lots of other options for geezer sedan buyers like me.

    I don't see an SXL trim level for 2019 - LX, EX, S and SX Turbo.

    The 24 month term has more lease cash, but the residuals aren't very good... Overall, the payments would be higher.. maybe, that's where he sees the $5000+

    Thanks to everyone's help here and the threads for some of the other cars I considered - drum roll please - I bought and took delivery today of a '19 Optima SX-L today. I paid first month and DMV at signing. My payment is $405/mo for 36/10, which includes the $400 NJ doc fee, bank fee, tax, and a wheel tire protection package, which is important in the NY Metro area. I think I got a good deal. Although I was shooting for 10% off MSRP, I only got 8%, but at least three dealers told me flat out no. I could not have done it without the help of the terrific moderators on the Edmunds' forums.
