$7211 is the total drive-off. $6211 out of your pocket (to cover all upfront amounts), and $1000 rebate, with the rebate applied as a CAP cost reduction

I ordered it. It is at the dealer and I am negotiating.

He gave me a really bad price previously, but I then got a cosignor with a much better credit score and this is the new monthly payment I got.

I'm still not understanding the rebate above. On the previous deal (where it was based on my credit score), the due at signing amounts were all the exact same except on that offer, it didn't include a rebate. The out of pocket was still $6211 prior. The only difference on this offer is that they included the 1000 rebate. I don't get how a rebate of 1000 brings UP my amount due at signing. I'll post exactly how the offer sheets look (both the current and the previous)

In other words, this is the way it is laid out in the current offer (based on the better credit):

The rebate does not increase the amount due at signing.
Drive-off is the total amount of cash available. (your cash + the rebate)
Your $6211 pays the upfront charges
The $1000 rebate is used to reduce the CAP cost (a downpayment).

What trim and engine?

Negotiating price after you've ordered was a mistake. You don't have any leverage.

Yes.. lower credit will result in a higher score.
The rates we give are for top tier credit.
But, dealers can markup the rate for extra profit, regardless of your credit tier.

The dealer knows why the deal is bad. That's their goal. To get you to sign a bad deal.

I basically said I need a better price or no deal. They said they will refund my deposit for the custom order. Guess i learned my lesson on negotiating beforehand. This dealer couldn't get me much info on the car before I custom ordered it beside the MSRP and possible lease terms, but definitely not the monthly lease price. They told me that changes monthly so what they tell me today would be drastically different in 3 months when the custom order finally arrives.

Part of that is true - the program numbers do change each month.

But, you can still negotiate the selling price when you place the order.

At that point, you only have to worry about the lease program in effect when you complete the deal. LR dealers are famous for marking up the MF astronomically.
