MF can be marked up .00050 by the dealer, but residual is fixed by the bank.

Confirm the term, trim, and mileage they are quoting for.

Or, they are using a different bank.

Can you please let me know the money factor and RV that I should expect in zip code 07302 for both a 36 mo/12k mi lease and a 36 mo/15k mi lease.

I’m trying to figure out what I really should be paying monthly, with A1 credit. And of course any incentives!! Thanks so much!

I can add, they are quoting me for 36/12:

RV: $26,001
Due at signing: $3600
Monthly payment: $499

I’m not sure how the $3600 is broken into fees.

Tell them you won't go any further in the negotiations until you get the base MF. If they balk, find another dealer.

@michaell was spot on with the numbers. Here’s the deal I got in NJ (NYC Metro) on a Limited 7 passenger package 23, 15/36

MSRP 44070
Invoice 41315
VIP 40489

MF 0.00105
RV 25120 (57%)

$3000 due (inc $1250 fees, $1250 down, first month payment)

$499.99/mo

$20,500 total lease cost

$47,290 total cost if purchased at lease end (if I don’t finance the residual value)

[Out-the-door purchase cost at promotional 3.49% APR for 5 years and $1250 down would have been $47,251 with $4432 due at signing inc taxes, fees, and cash down. Payments $713/mo]

A few other thoughts. Looking at values of used outbacks with 35-45K, there’s a good chance that a used Ascent will be worth more than the $25K residual value at lease end, in which case you could sell and pocket the difference before heading into a new lease.

Thanks to the forum and the moderators I was able to secure my lease yesterday (Jan 5). Numbers were spot on including the incentive (750). Here is my deal which is very straight forward and pretty good at the moment I believe.
1) Subaru Ascent Premium with the reverse auto braking and such MSRP $37,557
2) Agreed selling price $33,669
3) Due at signing $1254 which includes dealer fee, acquisition fee, and first months payment
4) 6% sales tax included in monthly payment as I live in Kentucky
5) Monthly payment of $394 for 36 months @ 12k per year

Thanks, my wife and I will pick it up this Saturday the 12th.

Yeah, simply the best out of the gate by far. I cross shopped, but I did not pit any dealer against another. They were just straight up the most forthcoming by far. Every question I asked was answered in detail. I saw no reason to use them against someone else to try and save a few bucks.

I leased an Impreza in 2008. I was looking for a stick-shift, and they had just traded their only one away, to another dealer. Had a nice 20 minute conversation about pricing, though. When I found one at another dealer, it really helped me know what was possible.

Funny you should mention trading. I knew exactly what I wanted. They were incredibly upfront about every detail. They did not have what I wanted, so they got what I wanted from another dealer. No extra charge, just a simple, let me see if I can find you one. They got what I wanted from Beechmont Subaru in Ohio. This is how simple car shopping should be. They were simply outstanding. If picking it up goes as smoothly, I will make sure I use them in the future.

Just to expand on my experience. I wanted a Red, 8 seat, Ascent, tan interior, with the popular package including the reverse auto braking and such (so pretty specific actually). I didn't want any other color or combination of anything. They simply said let me see if we can find one. Simply outstanding.
