2002 Chevy Suburban 1500 4x4 Starter/Wiring Issues

Starter went out on our 2002 Suburban 1500 4x4 5.3L. I replaced the starter and after getting the new one installed, vehicle wouldn't crank. Sounded like the starter was engaging but the engine wouldn't start. (Old starter would just click and do nothing when trying to start, so it's an improvement). Went back under the vehicle and checked out the starter. There were 3 loose wires hanging that weren't hanging before. Best guess is they got pulled loose when getting the starter in or out. They are thin gauge. A yellow, blue and green wire. I've looked online trying to find a wiring diagram but haven't found anything that lists wires of these colors. There are running in the same protective cable as the wire that goes to the small pole on the starter solenoid and the wire that goes to what I am assuming is the oil level sensor. Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Well before you start chasing phantom wires, find out why the truck isn't starting--are you losing spark or fuel or injector pulse?

    Thank you for the link. I hadn't see that site before, that's very helpful. I've tried to attach pictures of the wires in question. The larger one in the picture with the ring terminal on it is for the small pole on the back of the starter solenoid.

    Originally when the suburban quit starting it wouldn't do anything. Turn the key, there'd be one click out of the starter and that was it. I was assuming it was just the starter going bad. Replaced the starter, turn the key and you can hear the starter engaging but the engine isn't firing.

    Thinking they may have pulled loose from the starter, I attached them to the small pole of the solenoid along with the wire with the ring terminal and the starter engages without the key in the ignition once the battery is hooked back up, so that's not it. In answer to your other question about losing spark, fuel, or injector pulse, I don't know. Any suggestions on where to start checking for possible issues?
