Hi all and thanks for the great thread. I wanted to get a second opinion from some experienced folks about these lease terms. I apologize in advance for not having all of the numbers. I hope I have the most important ones:

F-Pace Prestige
MSRP: $59,115
Trade-In (Negative Equity): $2500
Total currently cap cost: $56,109.51 (applied discount was about $5k off the car )
MF: 0.0064
Residual: 50%

Monthly payment: $779/month, $2000 drive-off

Could really use any insights. I'm due to go in and sign the paperwork today, but I can wait until tomorrow for feedback (holiday promotions end on 1/2) or obviously just walk if it doesn't look good.

Note: I could sell my car separately and erase the negative equity here (and probably make a small profit on the sale), but I've never privately sold a car so I'm hesitant to jump into those waters. It's a BMW 435i with 12,500 miles, no issues. Appraised at $21,500 with a balance of $23,750 remaining on it. I would think it would sell quickly if priced around $25k, but again...that's a whole different world that I am unfamiliar with presently.

Which engine?
What lease term and mileage allowance?

You don't say what year your car is, but with those low miles, I would think it would be an easy sale. Although, you'd need someone that wouldn't have any issue securing their own financing.

I am reposting this message from late December. I didn't get any responses. I hope it is because people were busy with the holidays. I have a fairly local dealer who offered me a 5% discount so I edited the post to reflect that.

Looking to order a 2019 F Pace Prestige in January for March-May delivery. I live in Central NJ. A fairly close dealer is offering a 5% discount before incentives. I am willing to travel anywhere within 250 miles (up to the Boston area, NY-through Rochester, throughout NJ and eastern PA, and south though Northern Va.) to get the best possible overall lease deal. If anyone has any suggestions please PM me with name of dealer, salesperson and % discount. Greatly appreciated.

General question for all. If you start a lease in one state but then move to another state mid-lease and take car with you - do the lease calculations get reworked with the new state taxes?

are there any other factors/issues to be aware of in taking a lease to a new state with eventual plan to turn it into a different dealer?

I am looking at getting an F-pace in California but will be moving potentially to Arizona.

Taxes will change.

Fortunately for you, both CA and AZ tax the monthly payment, so the changes are minimal.

Why put $7500 down on what is, effectively, a rental? You'd lose that money if the car was stolen or totaled.

Florida dealer fees are a bit, er, extreme.

Ask the dealer for the specific CAP cost for their quote. In addition to the dealer fee, there is an acquisition fee and who knows what else.
