battery light and radio stay on when opening door

my battery light and radio stay on upon opening the door .The radio will time out but the battery light stays on.When the batt. light and radio do go off it won't start unless the batt. is disconnected and reconnected

    I tried the spray WD 40 on the door actuator solution and it seems to have worked but time will tell

    time told and that didn't solve it

    warmer weather seems to have solved it so I am guessing it was an extreme cold w/ maybe a condensation problem that messed w/ the door lock actuator as there has been no issues for several days now

    You should check the wiring as it enters the door from the main body of the car. These often chafe or break, which could be causing an unintentional ground.

    thank you to everyone who checked out my problem and especially Mr_Shiftright who always seems to have an answer. It was the ignition switch after all
