Hi all,

I need some expert help please.
Is this a good deal for a lease for a 320i x drive 2018 BMW:

If you want to lease:

3 year lease with 10k miles will be $348 per month with $3313 total due at signing (this is 1st payment and all taxes and fees)

3 year lease with 12k miles will be $359 per month with $3351 total due at signing

I’m told car price is 33,500 after rebates.

Total suggested price is 42,630 which is on the window sticker that lists all the options

With the prices you've provided, I get a payment of $342/mo for 36/12.

Ask the dealer for the adjusted cap cost they are using for their payment quote, and a full breakdown of the $3351 they want for the 12K lease.

Ok here is what the dealer had to say:

Cap cost is $34,100. My quote includes the $600 maintenance upgrade that you probably do not have factored in. This lease includes coverage for your brakes for 3 years/36k miles. If you remove that maintenance upgrade your numbers check out.

$3351 breakdown
$359 -1st payment
$925 – BMW Bank Fee
$505 – Dealer Doc Fee
$311 – NJ DVM Fee
$1251 – NJ Taxes

I don’t need that maintanence thing as the car is just for going out and driving locally. What do you think?

Skip the maintenance contract.

And, only pay the first payment and DVM fees up front - roll the rest of the fees, and the taxes, into the monthly payment.

You think the state will refund you the unused portion of the sales tax you paid up front if the car is stolen or totaled?

So I told the dealer about removing the mainance and rolling in the fees. The payment now jumped to 420.

Maintenance Upgrade removed.

$420 per month with $731 total due at signing.

$731 breakdown

$420 – 1st Month Payment

$311 – DMV Fee

We'd need to know both the MSRP and negotiated selling price to model a payment.
