You are right - $42200 is adjusted cap cost (MSRP 50,300). Lease 39/12 - $500 per month, $4000 initial amount paid. what do you think of the deal? thanks a lot.

I don't think anything, until you know why the adjusted CAP is less than the selling price.

Went to Audi dealership yesterday to negotiate a deal on a Q5. After crunching some numbers I asked about the possibility of using MSDs to lower the money factor. The gentleman told me MSDs would only be appropriate for buyers with poor credit rating to lower an elevated finance charge (MF). He insisted in all his years never has he seen this used for a normal buyer. I wasn't sure how to respond and would appreciate your thoughts.

MSDs can, and should be, used by everyone who has the money available up front.

Talk to the finance manager, or find a different dealer.

This is what the dealer gave me. Please help me to figure it out the discounts and the MF and RV. Zip: 33021 (7% sales tax). He did not want to give me that. He said that I f I have in writing any offer from other dealer he reduce the payment by $15 per payment. Is there any of those fee that can be fight?

Ask the dealer for the cap cost they used for their payment quote, and what got added to the selling price.

My recommendation is to only pay the first payment and any government fees (registration) up front, and add everything else to the lease payment.

If there are $3K of incentives, then you are effectively paying MSRP for the car. Not a good deal. Negotiate a discount from sticker price, then apply the incentives.

And, read back through the last page or two of this thread to see how others have done.
