Hello, I typed all this into the leasehackr calculator and wanted to make sure I did it correctly before showing my dealer.

sales price: 62,000 (6% off)
money factor: .00145
MSD: 0
Miles/year: 36/10
down payment: 3000
Residual: 62%
monthly payment with tax: 699
drive off: 4,546

also if I get a car with more or less options and it changes the MSRP will that affect the MF or residual in any way? Thanks

The numbers won't change, but the residual value will.

I wouldn't start a lease with $4500 out of pocket, just to get to a specific payment threshold.

I'd start a lease with only the first payment and registration costs up front, and add everything else into the lease.

What is the current MF and residual for a C43 Sedan and coupe? 24 and 36 months at 10K per year. Also, is there a 7.5K lease available?

75,700 is the MSRP, 66,956 is the sale price. best they can do is $910 which sounds high.

75,700 is the MSRP, 66,956 is the sale price. best they can do is $910 which sounds high.

$844/mo, plus tax, with those prices.

If the tax rate is 7.75%, then $910/mo is right there.

Can I please have the numbers for a C43 Sedan in 19035? 36/7.5 39/7.5 and 48/7.5? Any incentives still running for June?

Being quoted $617.85 per month including 9% tax for a $68,960 MSRP, $64,862.40 lease price and $10,200 trade in value. They gave me a residual of 54% of MSRP. This is for a 48 month / 7.5k lease.

Are they even in the ballpark?

I would advise against using trade equity to buy down the lease payment; that money would be lost if the car is stolen or totaled. Just first payment and registration costs should be paid at signing. Have the dealer give you a check for anything in excess of that amount.

Thank you. That's very helpful feedback - I'm very new to leasing. Given you are "financing" the car, doesn't financing more of it mean you are paying more interest? How does that work?

Also, given that advice does that mean doing the security deposit is a bad idea to lower payments since you would also lose that if the car is lost or stolen?

If I did the calculations correctly, it appears they used a MF of 0.00195. Does that make this a bad deal? They used 54% for the 48 month so that was dead on.

How does the $1000 incentive work? They moved the 68,960 msrp to 64,862.40 so that's 6% off which I know isn't that good right now as the TrueCar/Edmonds calculates I should be getting around 9.4% off msrp.

Sorry for all of the questions, I'm just very new to leasing. Have always purchased my cars with financing but now the wife and I are at a place in life where we want new cars every 3-4 years.

edit: and to add, they are using a $1,095 lease acquisition fee which I think is high?

MSD monies are not at risk, and are absolutely recommended, if you can afford the up front cash (or, use the trade equity for that, instead)

MF is absolutely marked up; I wouldn't go any further in the negotiations until they agree to give you the base rate. Acquisition fee is marked up from $795, as well.

If the target is a bigger discount, you need to shoot for that, as well.

Looks like you have some work to do to get the deal you want. Be patient, and work with multiple dealers.
