i went and test drove the select trim today. It's an alright car. Not sure about the brakes though. Got offered the same MF as you suggested. the base model seems to be the right budget trim for me. apple car play will cost $600 as an add on on the base model. thanks.

the base model have no carplay std. . they are asking for $600 to add it. For me, it is less of an issue, as I am not a big phone user, except e-mails. Also, I am not sure about the brakes, it felt like I had to press hard on the brakes to get the car to stop. May be the brakes were very new and needed to ease up after a few hundred miles of driving. I do think the 18inch wheels on the 'select' trim impacts ride quality kind of in a negative way. Base model with the 16 inch wheels is probably better ( at least for me ), as there is a bit more rubber to make ride quality better. But the sales guy said, on the base model there is not much of any incentive. Another positive side for the base and select model (for me) is that it does not have cyl deactivation. As I am not a big fan of that, it might be a good trim choice for me.

Sorry for long rant.
