And, taking another look at the numbers, I was evaluating them incorrectly. The issue is not the destination charge; the issue is that the dealer installed accessories are not subject to the residual value.

If that is the case, given the residual listed, the accessories were not residualized.

I'd have to see the Monroney sticker before commenting further.

I've never seen options on the Monroney sticker not residualized, before, unless the MSRP exceeded the MRM (usually only on luxury vehicles).
If that is the case, it's weird that the MRM is set at the base price for a model/trim.

If I was leasing, that would make me very unhappy.
That added about $30/mo to the lease payment.

I guess the key would be to go from dealer to dealer to find a car without factory installed options but that doesn't necessarily mean the dealer will give you a good price on a lease. I don't mind some of the trim options. The chrome bumper protection does save you from dings on your trunk when people back up into the car. The carpeted mats are good option. For the most part the trim options are profit for the dealer as he is working from the sticker and mark-up is probably high in the price he actually pays Nissan for the car. The dealer location worked out well for me as I was returning a Ford on my previous lease and was able to drop off as the two dealerships were literally a block away. Ford lets you return the lease car to any dealership. I had leased the Ford in Pennsylvania. I like the Altima so far but to be honest the Ford Fusion AWD Platinum is better build car. But I am saving $83 a month for a comparable car which gets better gas mileage and has a little less acceleration that the Ford.

I don't have any beef with the actual options.. just not getting them residualized.

If there is an increase on the incentives, there could be a decrease in the residual.

No reason to let your current car go, and have to make those payments, and not get use out of it.
