Shopping around in northern CA seems like no dealer is going below invoice for this vehicle.

There's no discussions for this model on edmunds discussing pricing or leases so thought I would start this one.

I believe that's only for the SEL trim, but I'm intrigued about the additional $400 dealer contribution on top of $500 bonus cash and $7,500 lease cash, and for me I there's also $500 loyalty cash. kyfdx, does that $400 dealer contribution work for any trim?

It isn't really a "contribution". It is the assumed dealer discount to get the proposed deal. It isn't an extra incentive

The owner of the vehicle gets the tax incentive (HMF, in this case). The lease cash is a consumer rebate, applied as a CAP cost reduction. Hyundai's way of passing that incentive on to you.

Dealer continues to stonewall with "There is a $7500 federal rebate that the owner of the vehicle receives. Hyundai passed this along to the consumer in the form of lease cash. when you lease the vehicle Hyundai owns it and you are leasing it from them, so they receive it. This is why there is not the $7500 rebate on a purchase, due to you being the owner and you would have to apply for it yourself. I am happy to match the selling price of $40396. If this helps you the lowest money factor available on this vehicle is .00136 and the 12k residual is 43%. I have no problem making you a great deal but we cant double dip on incentives."

Whoops - dealer is right. We did give you 2019 numbers, by accident.

No purchase incentives on 2020 Kona EV - you would have to qualify for the incentives through your tax return.
