My friend got this deal a few months back on a retired loaner. Is this a good deal? It doesn't quite match up with what I get from the calculator, so maybe he left something on the table. It looks as if the MF is higher than base.

Assuming "amount financed" is the adjusted CAP cost (although it seems it should be a little higher), then $413/mo plus tax.
Assuming tax rate of 9.5%, the pre-tax payment quoted is $452/mo+tax

My calculation with max markup in MF (.00158) is $440/mo+tax

When doing the calculation, be sure to adjust the residual to account for the current mileage ($1028 reduction, or about 2%)

Amount Financed is a weird term for a lease. It should be Adjusted CAP cost.

$495 1st payment
$555 DMV (est)
$85 doc fee
$925 acq. fee
$238 upfront tax on rebate (est 9.5% rate)
= $2298 upfront
-$3500 DAS
= $1202 CAP reduction

$41500 sale price
-$1202 CAP reduction
= $40298 adjusted cap

Substituting that number, it puts me within a couple of dollars per month of their quote, with maximum MF markup. Since a lot of my numbers are educated guesses, that seems most likely.

18% off MSRP is on the high end of loaner discounts for current year model BMWs. They are taking back about 2% of that discount with the higher rate.

Actually, I take all of this back.

Money factors and residuals were different a few months back. Though, it's likely there was a money factor markup, nothing else seems out of place.
