Some cool stuff there! I’d never seen green interior in a BMW before.

Love the black 85 Coupe, but those wheels would have to go.

The '73 Country Squire is unbelievable coming from the Philly/NJ area. Up here '73 Fords were the subject of a class action suit and an early consumerist movement against "rusty Fords" as whatever grade of steel they used and whatever corrosion resistance measures they used in the assembly plants were very inadequate, leading to 2 year-old examples having rust perforation. I love the colors on this one.

I really like that 300GE, but why the hell be a flipper if you aren’t going to at least detail the car, including under the hood?

Country squire is only about 20-30 minutes from me. That car screams 1970s suburbia. Of course we had a stick shift Volvo 144 at the time!

I also always had a fondness for the TR7. Though I doubt I would ever buy one today.

Maybe surprising, those wheels are period correct and were used on most 80s AMG cars. The go-to wheel before Monoblocks.

What bugs me most about that coupe is the red tow hook sticking out, which makes me think of flat-brimmed hats worn sideways, and clouds of vape smoke.

Regarding rusty Fords, I think Red Green had a line something like "these Fords don't rust like they used to".

For that Ranchero, seeing as the original isn't particularly rare, and I assume can be a bit of a dog performance-wise, no harm done there. Subtle look and it can probably move along nicely.

That was the original color of my first car, a 62 Galaxie. It had been painted a medium green before I got it. Under hood of the Falcon I see an aftermarket ac, yet, other than a high pressure line barely visible under the passenger side dash I don’t see any evidence of ac vents or controls. I guess they are hidden somewhere.

Happy it doesn't have some sort of aftermarket steering column, and the instrument panel is not super-modern. That engine twists that body pretty good, I'd bet!
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 50,488
lots of Volvos on there now. I like old Volvos. This is very nicely kept, but I actually prefer later models. And getting pricey.

this one would be really cool if you finished the project up. Though not cheap by the time you dealt with bodywork and paint. But lots of the heavy lifting is done, and going to be great fun in the end.

I wouldn't mind this. But in Wisconsin with 100k miles ... I don't see it worth shipping at the current $6300 with 1 hr left.

Yeah, not overpriced, but no bargain once you include shipping and any other expenses, and who knows what it really needs.
  • stickguystickguy Member Posts: 50,488
Looks nice. Replacing dead main screen might double the price though! Depends on how many dead pixels I guess, as to how much of a problem.

For something like that, I'd source a COMAND screen from a junkyard, can't cost too much anymore.

Suspension gives me a little worry too.

Yeah that's too much, I'd want a really pristine one for around that money if I just had to have a 211. If I wanted a depreciated MB wagon I'd probably save/spend a little more and get a S212, which I think have fewer issues than 211s.

Not for me. Year old prior generation design likely not always babied rental with 20K or more on the clock doesn't say "almost new" as the article claims, at least to me, but if someone just has to have one and doesn't care about the small stuff (and it has a good warranty)....maybe?

    The Well-kept Landcruiser

Spoiler Alert - at the end of El Camino, Jesse Pinkman escapes away to Alaska with a new identity and a LandCRuiser like that waiting like that. I believe in the story, it cost $125k to get away, but with a nice land cruiser like that included, not bad

My sister had the same charcoal gray 87 Civic. It was a 5sp with air. She loved it. Funny thing, the steering wheel also said power steering, but it had manual steering. Even Honda makes mistakes. She drove it for years and had 2 people bid against each other when she sold it privately.

damn, that Studebaker wagon would be so cool if it wasn't rusted.

I'm rather bothered that the FJ60 has an engine with more miles than the vehicle? Who the heck does that?

Yikes, one fast turn in that Acty van and its all over.

I also like that Vivio. Reminds me of something you may have found in Gran Turismo.

Shelby takes me back to when I had toys from this cartoon. Although I believe the cartoon car was shooting for IROC-Z. But the toy made it look stubbier.

There's a lot of W126 in the lower cladding, and the hubcaps look similar to a base Euro W126. Also maybe some W140 in it. 1981, golden year of the auto world.

Been nearly a month since I had the old dear out, had to take advantage of a dry weekend day. I used to avoid Saturdays due to traffic, but in this new age, it wasn't too bad - plenty of idiots on the road (horn works, got to test it a couple times, super loud which is awesome), but raw volumes weren't horrible. Car ran fine, fired right up and seemed to have less of the small miss I notice at idle speeds. The car turned some heads, and was quite nice to cruise around in while listening to an AM oldies station:

Honestly, I like that Cayman, but it seems a lot of money for a car that will likely need an engine rebuild or replacement soon, plus fixing the paint chips if so inclined, plus whatever else it probably needs. What is a pristine one of similar vintage with half the miles and no major needs worth these days?

I like the exterior color on it. But it does look tired. though 12 YO, 4 owners, and 100K+ miles can do that to a car. And like many expensive to maintain cars when they get older, they are cheap enough to buy that people get them that can't really afford to keep them right, so they get ignored.
