Visited dealer for 2020 Range Rover HSE in zip 10549, top tier credit, 12K, 36 months.
Dealer wouldn't budge from .00156 MF and 53% residual.
Not near .00038 MF; 51% residual. "Those rates come right from the bank."

Regular HSE is .00056 and 53%

MF is marked up the equivalent of 2.4%

But, typical for an LR dealer.

1. So, does the dealer have the ability to adjust the MF and RV or is it "set by the bank"? I imagine this is a crucial point for negotiation. What's the negotiating tactic (obviously I get going elsewhere)
2. By "typical" do you mean that't the MF/RV you'll typically get or "typical" in sense of inflexible?
3. Are the MF and RV significantly different within a state? For example, in the NY Metro Area will they be the same? Take 10523 and 10801, what atre they there?
4. What about far away from NY Metro like 12205

1) Residual cannot be altered. Base MF is set by the bank, but markups are entirely at the dealer's discretion.

2) Typically, LR dealers suck and will try to gouge you at every turn.

3) LR lease programs are national.

For 2020 HSE p400, I am getting lots of quotes that range from ".000902 to .00152" - they are saying this is their buy rate. This doesn't really seem that much higher than MFs mentioned earlier (maybe a 100bucks max per month). Just wondering how much stock to put into those statements. Still working through whether one will give me lower than .000902. Looks like they would instead rather discount the car by 2-3 thousand bucks first.

.00092 MF is the buy rate for 36 months. You won't get lower than that.

Thank you for your help. In Orlando and couldn't get them below .00235 money factor, but $2k off MSRP. Supposedly their standard MF markup is .00100. Are those spreads standard? This wasn't for me personally, so buyer had final say.

Anyone have input on how residual values compare for Range Rover from beginning of the year to the end? For example, if I leased a 2020 back in February, would the residual after 36 months have been higher than if I lease a 2020 now? So, would it cost me more to lease one now versus in February to the point that I should wait until January to lease a 2021?

6 pages of comments - feel free to look back and see what the numbers were, then.

In general, the RV decreases as the model year progresses. Doesn't mean it will always happen, however.
