    It is dealer-access information only.

Of course, they can get cars from anywhere. Sometimes I get lucky, though.

If it was in an accident reported on carfax, odds are something was painted. Not covering anything up, just repairing it. But any UCM can look at a vehicle and be able to tell you what, if anything, was repaired/repainted.

On the heavier side for miles on a 2017, no?

It's a trade-off compared to the M3 at my dealer- it has the Competition Package, Executive Package, and it's CPO. Plus it has a complete dealer service history. All it needs is the oil changed in the DCT. On the M3 I'd need to replace the Chinese Ditchfinder Maypops immediately.
Do you like that dark purple-ish color w/the black interior? It looks depressing to me. Also the “Lumbar support delete”??--who would do that? And the 47K miles, esp. for a car like that--hopefully a rich college kid didn't own it......

I like the color- and it was a $5000 upcharge because it was a BMW Individual hue. The lumbar support was deleted on all CP cars.

Explorerx4, they gave me the Carfax which has an accident listed 2 years ago. I’m wondering if there’s any way I can find out the severity of it though. There are no details on the accident. Also, I wasn’t sure how much to discount for the accident. Their price is higher than a few listings in the area but they are my area dealer and I’m trying to get this done close to home.

" AN ACCIDENT" posted on a Car Fax could have been a minor key scratch or a broken off side mirror. Having an accident doesn't mean it's a bad car! Also, a lot of accidents even bad ones somehow never show up on a Car Fax. They can be helpful but they aren't 100 percent.

it might not make it a bad car, but it does immediately cut a trade (or buyout) quote by 10-20%

That's weird, Carvana has been consistently higher on my cars compared to Vroom. Good luck with the sale!

I'd agree, Carvana was consistently higher, until very recently with my sample of 1.

I haven't sold yet, due to a miscommunication and unclear email from VROOM. I thought they'd be mailing an envelope with an envelope inside to send them their requested items and documentation. Turns out all they do is send me a label to put on a package/envelope of my choosing. By the time I figured it out, too much time had gone by, and they emailed me that my offer expired this past Monday.

I would say they were "playing games," but they are not, they reissued me a new quote today for the exact same amount plus 300 miles or so (I think and hope as that's what I told him over the phone more or less). The quote number is definitely the same dollar amount; renewed for a few days.

I think I will get on with it, and make progress in sending them their requested documentation and merchandise.

One request makes me really queasy though, as I haven't received a penny yet, just an email with a dollar figure on it. It's a request for me to send them the car's Title, AND a Key FOB. I have a problem with the Key FOB.

For those of you that know my Key FOB recent history, you can see why I'm squeamish about this. I prefer Carvana's no fuss no muss approach with a check printed out to you when they pick up the vehicle.

VROOM wants to dot all their i's and cross all their t's before sending you a penny.

Anyone here actually complete a transaction with Vroom before???? @qbrozen I think you might have?

Isn't Carfax starting to list "damage repaired" indicating no collision, but something was fixed? Currently looking at a supposedly clean S4 that has this record. Could be anything from a replaced windshield to a "comprehensive" type insurance claim, right?

Vroom sounds like more hassle than Carvana. With them, they send you a link, you fill our questions and upload copies of all your required docs, and that is it. No mailing forms or keys, or waiting on payment. I dropped mine off and they checked it at the vending machine, otherwise the driver shows up, takes the keys, and hands the check over.

Exactly, I'll give Carvana another shot, but I can deal with some "hassle" for 4 figures of cash difference.

I asked about the paint and was told the front bumper was touched up. I like the car and it rode well. I’m going to try and make a discounted offer and see what they say. I’m also going to ask a mechanic to take a look at it. Thanks for your help.

Yup, I have. Twice. Very inconsistent experiences with both companies. With the Land Rover, the back and forth through Fedex slowed things down considerably. With the Hyundai, it went much faster. Nothing through Fedex and they got the payoff quote all on their own, unlike Carvana who was insisting I had to get it for them. When I sold my Alfa to Carvana, they got the payoff on their own and it was quick and painless. So it just seems to be a crapshoot no matter what.

The payoff is always going to be higher than the amount owed due to an interest charge estimate, which is good for a certain period of time, so is slightly higher than if you were to pay it off today. Granted, I don't think that it would amount to $25 for $2500 owed, unless it was a terribly high rate, but that is something to consider.

Sorry, but not enough comps out there. I think you should shine it up real nice and try carsandbids or BAT. Would probably do well. And see what carvana/vroom offer. Last one to go through had 130k miles, average condition, and got $11.5k.

@dad23 are you replacing the 2007? The miles on that 2006 are really low compared to most that I see, and I'm sure that drives up the price. The V8 on those doesn't seem to improve performance compared to the V6 (the V8 has more torque but less horsepower).

What would you pay for a 1-owner lease return '17 Alltrack SE DSG with 31K miles? Blue with beige interior. 300 miles from me in AZ? Looks very clean.

What would you pay for a '16 Golf R in Red with about 13K miles about 80 miles from me? It has had 2 owners already, which worries me at least as much as the incredibly low mileage makes me want it.

Well, I wouldn’t pay much for the Alltrack lol. But it should be fair retail in the $19.5k zip code. More for CPO of course.

Probably about $32k-$33k on the R. No comps with those miles, so it is a guesstimate based on 30k miles going for $30k.

@corvette we’re keeping the 2007, been extremely pleased with that purchase! Just looking for an additional vehicle for the boys as now all three are working :). I’d prefer another V6, similar year, trim etc, just having to be patient for another decent one to come along.

Yes, that's my old truck! I recognize the ending digits on the VIN.
The interior looks like it is new. Fix a couple of dings on the outside and it will looks good as new.
Great service history, no outstanding recalls.

My theory is they have local transport take the vehicles one at a time to the nearest Manheim where a company rep will get to see them all in one place and decide to keep or run through the auction. Then they can load all their treasures onto larger transports to head to their own lot.

Sounds like you got jipped! Should have held out for a higher offer!!!

Carvana was about $3000-3,200 delta on my All track if I remember correctly.

    LOL!

Their asking price represents about $120 a month depreciation from when I bought it.
I wish them good luck with that.
That 43k+ check I ended up with after loan payoff looked good.

Hey @qbrozen, can you give me a value on a 2017 VolvoV90 CC, in Colorado, 28,500 miles, gray/black. It's in great shape and is CPO, has the luxury package (if that matters) and all the other goodies except for the 4C air suspension. Thanks!

    As the seller or buyer?

If trading, you'd probably get $32k'ish. Probably $33k+ from carvana/vroom. As a buyer, well, is it the volvo dealer who CPO'd it the seller? If so, you are probably talking something like $38k. But if you would be the 3rd buyer (first being new, 2nd being CPO buyer, and now you), more like $36k.
