    Some feedback: using the numbers above, I negotiated an OTR price of $29376 before taxes and tags, which includes the dealer's BS $500 "fee". Works out about 5.4% off MSRP of $31050. We paid taxes (MD requires it on the negotiated price so 6%), tags ($299), acquisition fee ($650) and the $500 up front - total $3500 including the first payment. Payment is $298 per month on a Poly Gray/White 2021 AWD Premium (36/10). It was the dealerships first 2021 so I think we did great. This forum has helped me twice and I now have two awesome Mazdas - a 2020 CX-9 GT and this one. THANKS!!!

    I need some help understanding some numbers I got at a dealer here today for a Mazda CX-30 Base 2021. This was for a 36/12k zero down lease deal I was hoping to negotiate with them. Zip 30076 at dealership.

    1.The sale price of the car was talked down to 21,100 (MSRP 23000) with a down payment of 1000.

    (dealer told me I could not do a zero down lease with them for Mazda. I have good credit so this was a bit confusing to me. Is this something specific to Mazda?)

    I was told that even if I was putting this $1000 down the monthly lease payments would still be coming out to 314.68 which to me seemed high based on what the LH Calc was putting out with those numbers. I was getting 251 with the MF of .00195 and RV of 65% after 3 years)

    2. I also inquired about paying taxes and fee's upfront and was told it would not affect the monthly payment amount. In regards to this I must say that I'm still unfamiliar with lease's but I was under the impression taxes and fee's were levied upfront here in GA. If these fee's and taxes were paid upfront would they still be rolled into the cap cost of the vehicle?

    1) To calculate the lease payment, you have to know the taxes and fees being added to the CAP cost. I agree, if you have good credit, you should be able to lease with just first payment upfront.

    2) You are correct. It makes no sense that the payment would stay the same, if you paid for items upfront, that were previously added to the CAP. Also, GA does collect tax upfront (though, you can add that to the CAP).
