I currently have a 2018 S90 and am about to lease a new 2021 S90 inscription. The MSRP is less ($60,700 vs $67,160 on the 2018) and they have discounted it by around $5k, yet the lease is about as much/ month as my current vehicle. On this (2018) I purchased extra miles up front (29K/year) and on this one will need 25k/year. My understanding is that the volvo miles are$0.20 per up front and $0.25 on the back, so the effective price is about 9k less at least.
I know that the market for sedans has lessened ( Acura d/ced the rlx, Lexus the GS, and Infiniti the Q70) and the residual value after 75k miles would be $26k.
The old lease is $1083( bought excess wear ins.) and this one will be $1056.
Is this reasonable?

I don't have any way to estimate payments on a 25K/yr lease. And, I don't have the mileage charge numbers.

Also, I don't have the lease programs from 2018.

What is your location?
What is the selling price?
Adjusted CAP cost?
Actual residual amount?

Thanks for the reply. I am in PA. The sticker is $60690.Rebates and "savings" total $4866. My first payment would be for $1694, which I assume includes the first month lease.
The actual residual is $26,165. Hope this helps and thanks again!

It appears the residual amount you've provided takes into account the mileage reduction.
$2000 loyalty

Given the loyalty, your actual dealer discount is $2866. Seems skimpy.

Assuming 9% sales tax, pre-tax payment is $969/mo
At base MF of .00093, the adjusted CAP would have to be about $58,200

$60690 MSRP
-$4866
= $55824
+$995 acquisition fee
= $56819 adjusted CAP
About a $1400 spread between that number and the $58,200 that the payment implies

Either the money factor is marked up, or there are other charges added to the adjusted CAP.

$1694 upfront: 1st payment + dealer fee + DMV?

I would ask the dealer for the adjusted CAP, and an itemization of what is in there.
Also, ask for the money factor used.

I see about $1400 of extras (either in charges or money factor markup), and a less than 5% discount.

Did you add excess wear coverage on this vehicle, as well? Knowing all of the details and charges would make it easy to spot where you could save some money.

They have assured me that this is a fair deal, but I think they feel that they have me over a barrel. My current lease is up in 10 days and this one is due in right around then.
This price, to my knowledge, does not include the excess wear charges. I suppose that I could try to negotiate that into the deal?I believe they would want about $900, but I know it costs them much less.

I'd worry first about the gaps between my assumptions and their calculations. You should negotiate a better deal, before adding other items (if you wish)

I asked the salesman the above questions ( by text) Saturday, and he has yet to respond. It is angering me as he has not been very responsive throughout the entire process.

I finally got the info.The MF is 0.00103, the advanced payment$1096, various fees $112( title fee, encumbrance etc.)$389 doc fee. 10% tax is $165.74. Cap$1968.24.
I would use another dealer but this is the one that ordered mine for me, also I have had a bad service experience with the other" local" Volvo dealer.

You didn't negotiate these terms when you placed the order?

Puts you at a disadvantage, as you can see.

Because it was a 2021, when it was ordered in the spring they told me that there was no pricing information available. In fact, I wasn't given the pricing until just this week. I am not obligated, but I do like the vehicle more than the very few comparable ones that are still being manufactured.

Not so much the pricing, just ensuring that you got the base MF (whatever the rate was).
