Just had a member request lease numbers for the outgoing Maybach - 35% residual for 36 months and 10,000 miles. The car they are looking at has an MSRP of something like $206K.

    Wow $4000 a month payment .. lol.
I think the selling price was something like $175K. With a crazy amount down, he was quoted $3200/mo.

But, this was with a decent markup to the MF.
Ha ha more than my mortgage and NJ taxes. Ahh to be rich !
Well, $3200/mo is about the size of my mortgage (with taxes, etc.).
Yeah we are just under $3000. I told the wife when we moved that was the limit! She made sure we didn’t miss it by much! What’s crazy is 40% of it is taxes.
The property taxes in NJ blow my mind. Taxes are just about 15% of our mortgage.

Hoping to move somewhere much less expensive next time around, and cut the mortgage by 2/3 if all goes well.
Yep they are insane (14K)... at least the county I’m in is lower by percentage than where I came from. I’d wager @stickguy pays a lot more than me, one county north.
    I’m about 35%, I think

Saw a DB11 on East Sprague in Spokane - kind of a surprise and a little out of place, nearest dealer must be in Seattle.

Even in Cincinnati, which is not a small town, the nearest AM dealer is 2 hours away.

My neighborhood seems to be on a shopping spree. People across the street traded in a few year old Malibu for a new Traverse (I think they are leasers, and only get chevies). And next to them, a new Infiniti QX50 in the driveway. I think it is replacing a recently departed G37 that was towed off after getting hit in the rear, with a boatload of miles on it. Puts them back to 3 Infiniti’s, and before that they had a Nissan (Z). So they seem to be keeping the company in business.

    Traverses are suddenly ... everywhere!

I had to see at least 5 the other day, two with temp plates.

I get it... looks like a Tahoe at a much lower price.

It’s actually a good vehicle and can be pretty luxurious. We didn’t look at it because it was too similar to the Enclave.

It’s a cool vehicle, no doubt. I question the name choice but at the end of the day it means nothing.

I find that name a lot less questionable than the current Eclipse or even Pathfinder.

Might take the pressure off releasing 4 door ICE Mustang.

Eclipse is worse. Pathfinder I don’t find offensive because it’s still a 4 door SUV. I know it’s a far cry from the rugged PF of the past, but you could use the same argument for the Explorer that was turned into a FWD chassis (and of course now changed back)

Please no... of course Ford did it with the Thunderbird and Lincoln Marks so it isn’t beneath them.

I don't see anything wrong with a 4 door Mustang if it is a good product.
Their strategy seems to be going toward sub brands.

No! Please!! Now that the Corvette has finally become mid-engined, and the transition is so successful, the retrograde move necessary to create a crossover or an SUV with that name would be (uh) unfortunate. I agree with the author of the article: "Get that noise out of here! And leave the Corvette alone."

Heard hearsay that a customer was put on a 3-year waiting list for the C8 Corvette by a dealership. That's nuts. Do they get a 2024 when it comes in, or a 3 year old 2021?

Of course, it or an Explorer or Pilot or Acadia or Telluride or Durango etc are all as likely as each other to see more than a gravel driveway.

I see plenty advertised for sale around the country. 241 on cargurus nationwide. Sure, some are BS listings. Found one in CA where the VIN shows as sold in August. But also found plenty where the VIN comes up blank, so not yet sold. There is even a silver one with Z51 pack that has been on a lot in PA for 211 days. Asking $97,500. Found a black one in NJ being advertised at MSRP ($87k).

There are also 31 used that have gone through Manheim is just the past month. All sold for over $90k.

Saw an Arteon today, maybe my 2nd or 3rd ever, stateside - rare especially in these parts. Also a new style GLA.
  • sdasda Member Posts: 6,936
I like the Arteon. I like the look of the sedan yet versatility of the hatchback. They are a bit overpriced but if I can find one loaded CPO in a couple of years at a good price I will be tempted. I think they depreciate quickly, like the Passat. Alas. Both will be discontinued as everyone rushes to CUVs/SUVs.

Man, this is a harsh review of the new Infiniti QX55 over at CNET. Too bad, as it's a good-looking rig. They treated it almost like they had mistaken it for a GM vehicle. ;)

Oh, must be redesigned QX50. Nobody much liked the prior version either. Had that weird variable displacement engine or something strange.

I think it's the 'coupe' version of the QX50.

The reviews on that variable compression ratio turbo 4 have been pretty meh. Lots of complexity without much to show (power or mpgs), compared to the competition.
  • tjc78tjc78 Member Posts: 15,852
Yeah that engine is not loved but the press at all. Infiniti in general has lost their way IMO.

Have driven a few of them at work. To be totally honest, they don't drive that badly, I was surprised how much I did like it! The looks are really awful...it ain't a pretty thing but it's comfortable inside and drove decently enough. Ergonomics were decent also, just hated the rear split window, like the Prius. I hate those split rear windows, hatches, whatever you call them.
Bottom line, get past the looks and it isn't that bad of a vehicle. Depending on what your needs are plus your budget, it just might work for some. But again, don't get too hung up with it's looks!

To me, Eclipse Cross would be just another unpretty but overall not too offensive cloned CUV if not for the name, which is a bit offensive to people of a certain age.

Saw one of the new 6 window Acura sedans, didn't look bad, dark color to make the big grille stand out less.

I would love to have been in the room when a group of presumably high paid designers and execs gave the green light to the design.

What were they smoking? In some ways it’s like they wanted it to be ugly and help bring down Pontiac.
