We will be trading in a 2011 Toyota Sienna SE for a 2021 Chevy Traverse LT that's on the lot in Springfield, MO 65807. The Sienna has 185,000 miles, but is running well. It has been in four accidents (mostly fender benders), but never totalled. I can honestly say that there is not a thing wrong with it. The only way you can even tell that it's been in an accident is that the pinstripes are fresher where the body has been repaired. The alignment was spot on in a recent check.

Anyway, the Blackbook trade-in tool on Your Auto Advocate says $5,580 for rough condition to $9,515 for great condition. My gut says to put it in the middle, which would put it at about $7,550.

The Edmund's appraisal tool puts it at $6,854.

The KBB trade-in range on the dealer's page is $5,338 to $7,883, with a trade-in Value of $6,611. I, of course, do not consider this to be anywhere near a "quote" from the dealer.

I don't want to count my chickens before they hatch, but I would like to know a good asking price for this Sienna. Can anyone here help me with this?

    Thanks!

That particular one, no. A M4 with those miles and very clean would be a $57k auction car. However, an accident is on the autocheck.

They will review and request additional in if necessary.

How many miles on the MKZ? I always liked the MKZ. I seriously considered finding a CPO with the Panoramic sunroof and THX audio. Those that I found had too many miles or the dealer was very proud of them with a price to match.

I saw that. The owner had it serviced at my dealer most of the time he had it. I'll check and see what they know. The accident happened in January 2018 and he held onto it until just now.

The 320's that I've seen here in Denver (with less miles, admittedly) are going for about $5K more at the local BMW store.

Seems like a fair price, by comparison.

Not much data here. It is well equipped as far as these go, I think. If it glows in the dark (as Terry used to say), it might hit the 16s at auction. So they aren’t killing anyone at the asking price. Another grand off could be safe for both parties.

Companies are pushing back their return to the office dates.
It looks like things will be closing down/restricted again.

Same here we are suppose to go back to work onsite Sept 13, we have to supply proof of vaccination by Aug 30. I think I put about 4000 miles on my car this entire time.

Oh, I think you can pretty much count on the Pandemic getting worse. But highly dependent on the country/state/region. I saw reports today that in several Southern states, COVID is just out of control. I'm pretty sure that this Pandemic qualifies as yet another "Black Swan" event.

I'd much rather just talk about cars. But now, cars, & COVID, & computer chips, & even buying paper towels (!), are all intertwined.......

Like Stick's wife, mine also likes her car under her name and mine under mine. We also buy our own out of personal monies left to us by family members. My co-workers think it's dumb how we do our car buying, but it works for us so we don't question it. This way, we each get what we want that will fit on our sides of the garage. There's no way I'd tell her what to get for her d d, though I did suggest trying the A3 before she put $ down on the Kia Forte, just to be sure. And I usually get what I like/want though I should've listened when she advised me not to get the Tucson back in 2013...I should've listened!

Carvana picked up the car around 3:30.
Kind of anti climactic, 2 guys showed up in a Carvana wrapped Prius, not the flatbed truck.
I'm having them just deposit the money in my account, so that will take a day or two.
Since then I cancelled the insurance, registration, Sirius radio and forwarded a copy of the sales contract to the dealer where I bought the car to get a refund on the balance of the extended warranty.

    Hey there, @qbrozen

My buddy in SoCal is thinking of selling his extra car, that he inherited from his aunt.

1999 RAV4, silver over grey. 4-door, 145K, normal wear and tear. Good tires.

What should he ask for in a private party sale?

Also, he's thinking about letting his G35 go, as well (he has his folks' RAV4 available to him).

2004 G35 RWD, less than 75K on the odometer, silver over black. Good condition, and he's kept up with all the maintenance.

We figure this has to be worth 5 figures, at a minimum. The idea is that he can sell both and pocket a bunch of money, he'll get back in the market when things return to normal.

I think 5 figures for an '04 auto sedan is very optimistic. There are no comps and the market is nuts, so you never know. I think $7500 private sale would be a homerun.
Rav4 ... again, you just never know. It is a $2500-$3k car, but maybe shoot for the moon and ask $4995 and see what happens.
