It's official...no longer work as a Toyota shuttle diver! Went in at 10 this morning and handed back my 3 shirts and thanked them for the opportunity they gave me but now, I need some time for me to work on my health issues. Driving customers around the area is not something I need to be doing right now. Haven't had a real vacation in almost 2 years, being in bed last week does not count as vacation time. Better to leave on a positive note I felt with no negativity needed. I feel like a giant weight has been lifted from my shoulders to be honest...it was the right move!
The had two pre-sold 2022 Corolla Cross CUV's in the back. Nice vehicle but the sticker had a "$3995 Admin Fee" tacked on to the other bogus fees!! Are they f'ing nuts??? That's totally outrageous to be honest. Obviously, some folks are paying it as both are already pre-sold. Got a feeling they're going to sell a whole bunch of these C C's going forward. A bit smaller than the Rav4 and we all know how popular those are. And sure there are many like me that want to sit up a bit but want a smaller package due to tight parking in major cities around the globe. Figure I'm going to wait a bit till things get back to pre-covid conditions where there are no chip issues and dealers have plenty in inventory. The fact that these early builds are coming in without the JBL audio package is just fine to as I'm not wanting one quite yet. Talk to me a year from now and think I'll be ready to purchase.

Just had to share my excitement over getting the garage floor coating done at the new house (we closed last Friday and will move in this Monday).

They’re lightly sanding down the floor as I write this, with the final clear coat going in today. Should be ready for vehicles by the end of the weekend.

That looks great! Time to fill it up. If you’ll just provide access to that line of credit, I’ll pop over to Bat and Cars & Bids to get that started for you.

Edmunds dude (I like his style of reviewing) just did a head to head Maverick vs. Santa Cruz test. Mostly as expected. Maverick more trucky, Santa Cruz more car like with more comfort and less utility.

But mostly, with the turbo, way way more expensive. Depending on options and configuration, can be 10-14k the way Hyundai packages the 2.0t engine. More gadgets of course, but not everyone can handle $41k for AWDturbo with moonroof, but you can get that for $26-29k on the Maverick and still get BLIS, heated seats and wheel, etc.

I sat in a SC. it was nice. Never drove one though. I heard the base motor is very pokey and not very efficient. A bad combo.

I just need to move first. Not spending the money here. Then decide on epoxy or race deck tiles. My BIL did those, and they are pretty neat.

Edmunds has to fix this site. @xwesx said that not @kyfdx.

I do agree that @breld should get a dealers license since it ain’t fair that a guy off the street can get away with that.

Found a Maverick on a lot today and went to check it out. Not ordering.

The deal breaker for me is that I tend to sprawl in my driving position and the console comes too far into the space for the right leg. Not comfortable for me.

Its a shame as I was really excited about the truck, size is right - I still drive an old S10 much of the time. Feautres are cool but...

Drove a Kona recently and was pretty meh to be honest. Drove a Soul S today also and it's a decent vehicle but again, a bit meh. Guess I'll keep looking while doing nothing until the chip issue is resolved or find something else. Best to just squirrel as much cash away as I can & hunker down to wait. Having the Enterprise gig lets me try most vehicles out there so eventually, that moment of clarity will emerge and I'll pounce on whatever it is that speaks to me. Figure I can find something decent for my car and like $28K cash, just need to be patient which ain't a problem with the lack of inventory.

What engine is in the Soul S? To be honest, after 2019 they expanded the trim levels so much I never could figure out what trim got what. When I bought mine they had the silly Base, + and ! trim level designations but it made it easy to remember that corresponded to 1.6L, 2.0L and 1.6L turbo.

I like the 2.0L in mine, enough power for a grocery getter.
