The little doggie room is cool, looks like you need a few more cars in there and I see the Traxxas up on the shelf!

Edited to say: The family room looks great too, new furniture? If not, it looks like it fits perfectly!

Wow, @nyccarguy - when I got to reading your second paragraph with all the terms you wanted I figured the outcome would be that they weren't prepared to do business. What a great outcome! First, the Mets sign Max Scherzer, now this - everything is falling NYC's way today!

You're correct about the Lexus Atomic Silver. It is my favorite paint color anywhere right now.

    Since you asked:

I test drove a Silver Genny. At the time (2015) Mrs. j had a 2012 Silver Legacy. I thought the Silver Genny was too close in color to the Subie and Son #1 thought that too and felt the Genny would look better painted in what Genesis called their color Empire State Gray (charcoal gray pearl). I looked at the Empire State Gray side by side with the Silver Gray Genny and Mrs. j’s Subie and initially agreed so I got the Empire State Gray.

FWIW, @abacomike’s G90 looks like Empire State Gray but I think they changed the name of the color for 2021.

$711 per month for 39 months/15K per year
Sticker price was $54K & change
    56% Residual/.00145 money factor
    $711 Due At Signing
8.375% Sales Tax, $12.50 NY Tire Fee, $70 Plate Transfer, $75 Doc Fee, & $1,200 (ish) commission (2% of the sale price. This is how they get around only charging the max $75 doc fee).

If you include the 2% commission fee, the deal was more like 2% - 3% off sticker. As a whole, I'm very happy with the deal.

Watching the first season of Car Issues... IMO, the *other* reason Hoovie got the Saab 9-2X Aero for a song (besides the undisclosed blown head gasket) is that it was an automatic. I completely forgot that they offered the turbo model with an auto. The Boxster was also an auto. I like the convenience of an automatic in a daily driver, but those are both cars that strike me as ones you buy with a manual over the conventional automatic that they were offered with.

Guy that used to work on our old BMWs (E36 M3 and E30) has an E36 with an LS swap. It's overkill. A BMW S52 swap would give you 240 HP, and you'd basically have an M3 wagon.

    That's what I would want.

Yeah, I think it would take a custom drive-shaft, at the very least, in addition to the transmission swap.

Apparently there are two new GTIs on the lot at my local dealer.

    https://www.vw.com/en/inventory.html/__app/inventory/results/golf-gti.app?zip-app=80016

Both DSG Autobahn trims in Yellow. MSRP of $41,025.

I've been of the belief that the Golf R doesn't add a proportional amount of driving enjoyment over the GTI, but I do think I'd spend the extra few grand over an Autobahn GTI.

Instead, I'd be happy going with the SE trim (with the manual), like my last one (now @kyfdx's) and keep the plaid seats. Still about $35k, but quite the bargain compared to the insane used prices (that is, if the VW dealer will play ball at MSRP).
