Doing an early lease swap with $9.5k of equity/Cap Cost reduction. I think the trade in is fair.

I test drove both. I liked both of them a lot but obviously LOVED the inscription. I’m just not sure I want to pay $855 monthly for it, though the extra packages seemed quite nice: climate package; advanced package; metallic paint; polestar; integrate center booster cushion; park assist pilot; 21” 8-Multi Spoke Alloy Wheels.

The momentum only had the advanced package.

Guy told me in this market they aren’t really doing discounts off MSRP but could give me just a slight $450 on momentum and $1k on inscription. Pretty much the bottom line he could do.

I’m hoping to find a momentum with the climate package (he has one arriving by end of month), but I’m tempted to grab one of these. I know this is forbidden on leases (and I’ve never done it), but I’m even tempted to put some cash down to get the inscription and make the monthly feel more palatable.

Thoughts, opinions? This market sucks. I got spoiled with getting STEALS on my last two leases. It feels like it’s time to pay the piper.

Fair enough and you speak truth. If we just focus on the momentum then, in this market, do you think I should be able to get better than $665 monthly?

We are at base MF and the cap cost is reduced from the equity. I’ve been trying all of my nearby Audi, Volvo, and VW dealerships for Q7, XC90, and Atlas SEL/SEL Premiums. For VW SEL Premium R Line, best offer I got was $690 monthly with first month’s due, and that was for a car that in transit and which literally got bought up before I could even respond. All other dealerships have none on stock or are quoting over $700 monthly for Atlas SEL. There are literally no Q7s in stock anywhere, except for 1 prestige, which quotes $1,600 monthly — nah. I even started looking at Acura MDX but inventory also seems non existence

Thus, my best shot seems to be Volvo as the local dealers have some in stock, but without getting more money off sticker, I don’t see how I’ll do any better. And when my lease expires in 6 months, I could be in the same position without equity to leverage.

So, I’m thinking I should pursue a T6 Momentum.

In my original post, I had two vehicles in contention: 2022 T6 7-Seater Inscription (MRSP ~$71K) and 2022 T6 7-Seater Momentum (MSRP ~$61K) for $850 and $665 monthly, respectively. After driving the Inscription with the Polestar chip, I really liked the added performance compared to the motor without (but the T6 without the polestar chip still felt far more powerful than my Atlas 3.6l v6). I also preferred the 6-seater set up and wanted the climate package. This vehicle happened to be an in-between giving me the key options that I wanted for only $55 more monthly (compare to $200 more for the Inscription).

I know this isn't the market for deals and the $719 with that equity still hurts, but I shopped multiple dealers and no other dealer could get close to these monthly payments, so I didn't hesitate to lock this in.

By comparison, I was also shopping 2022 Atlas SEL Premium R-Lines (I couldn't find any Audi Q7s on lots anywhere), and the best deal I had before I signed this was at $690 monthly, except for 1 dealer who called me literally 5 minutes before I was driving to the Volvo dealership to finalize this deal who said he could get me somewhere between $588-$680 monthly once I brought in my Atlas for in-person appraisal. This was also in response to the fact that the internet manager who was texting me said there was NO WAY he could get me to the numbers I wanted for an SEL Premium R line or SEL without money down. Too late at this point. This XC90 felt like my car as soon as I saw it, and I had reached the point of no return at that point. I also loved my Atlas for what it was, but even with the SEL Premium package it didn't feel like a "luxury" vehicle worth $700 monthly. This XC90 did, albeit for this market at least.

I thank you once again kindly for the assistance. This is my third lease, and the information and insight you share has always led to what I believe to be the best deals possible. Kudos to the moderators of this forum!

Is the MF dependent on where the dealer is located? Am trying to lease at a dealer whose zip code 60532 and he is claims the base MF for below is 0.00239 and not 0.00169 as you quoted for my home zip of 55115.
