But I told her it is going on the trip FIRST. If, by the time we return, she says "yep, this is a keeper," then we can put money into it. First on her list are rear windows that open.
I'll get more interior pics in the daylight. I drove it home because she wants to get comfortable with it in familiar surroundings. It drives WAY better than I imagined. On the highway, you can very quickly forget the size of the beast. Probably predictably, it provides the best seating position for my 6'5" frame of any vehicle I've ever been in, and the 12-way seat helps. Less predictably, I can stand up almost completely straight inside. That's just crazy. A couple of little details I love: fold out cupholders under every seat in the back and every row has 1-2 cell phone holders with USB-C ports.

It seems to have a good bit of length to it but you should have ordered the model that gives you a few more inches of head room. That way you could have a few of your friends over for an indoor basketball game.
Good luck with it.

It does need some new wheels if you are keeping it (my humble opinion )

Have to do a lot more than that.
With the uncertain future this thing likely has I would keep it as an anonymous white-painted van with steelies until it departs the herd and not put one thin dime into "enhancing" it.

I like the industrial wheels. It basically has black dog dishes. Suppose if I was adventurous, I’d paint the steelies black and put on chrome centers. But new wheels? Nah.
And, yes, it all comes down to if it is a keeper. Wife hasn’t even driven it and she was shopping accessories last night.

And despite my initial lukewarm response to the BMW iX, I’m starting to think a bit more about it. Depending on the amount and terms of the deposit, I’m considering ordering one and just seeing what happens between that and the R1S.
And still thinking about the Integra, the Z. Did I mention I really like the refreshed Palisade?

They seem to be hit or miss with their quotes. When you say “bad” .. you mean upside down bad or just not worth it to you to sell.

Here’s one for you but it already has temp tags, unless…
I remember he test drove one back in the day, and I was with him, he was a fan.
I must say, the Tundra rides a lot better with half a ton of topsoil in the bed.
Years ago he had a Prius, hated it, but doesn't seem to have been turned off hybrids.
A real shame VW decided not to import the lowly Golf anymore as I'd probably be in the market very soon. Did drive another Mini Cooper Countryman at work today and didn't notice any real turbo lag when taking off from a stop. My Golf has a definite lag with each forward movement after a full stop unless I put the shifter into "S" mode before I move. No more turbo lag but being in sport mode, it holds each additional shift longer until the tach drops the rpm's. Uses a bit more petrol unless I remember to pop the shifter back into "D" mode right away. But noticed today, only used an 1/8th of a tank of petrol since last Saturday when last time I stopped at the pumps. Was just curious to see how much I was using each week and really isn't much. Working so close to home these last few years has really slowed down the number of miles I'm putting on my Golf which is fine with me.

Quick update on the Model Y since we’re well over a month of ownership. Has just over 1200 miles on it and we’ve been using it as our primary family car. Lots of smaller summer-in-Seattle roadtrips for weekend adventures - Bellingham, Leavenworth, Olympic Peninsula, Snoqualmie Falls, and more.
I have been using autopilot more on the highway as a mechanism for saving myself from an inadvertent speeding ticket - it is very easy to hit 3 digit speeds and have it feel like you’re doing 60. Plus it is also way more efficient at managing the energy usage than I am. That power is intoxicating to have so easily available.
We have yet to need to supercharge it. Our longest trip so far was about 250 miles roundtrip and we still had around 15% when we returned home - we started that trip from a 90% charge and averaged 70mph. That performance bests the 303 mile full charge estimate for the performance. I wasn’t trying to be efficient, either. For battery preservation we typically only charge to 80% and have gone as high as 90% for the aforementioned road-trip.
Overall fit and finish and quality remains excellent with no surprises. No creaks, rattles, panel gaps, or quirky behavior. Very very pleased!
