Curious if you're seeing any lease incentive offers across the Hyundai or Kia line up?

Was just reading that the finance companies still qualify for the $7,500 federal credit even though the vehicles are not built in the US - so was interested to see if any of the manufacturers had started to pass that along yet?

I'm in 95124 - looking at the Hyundai Ioniq5/6 and Kia EV6 mainly but open to others. Thanks.

Thank you. Since this car is not assembled in North America it has not been eligible for the tax credit if purchased by a consumer starting 8/16/22 when the IRA was passed. Under IRS 45w, the credit is still applicable to leases. IRS clarified this difference on 12/29/22.

But, I understand that negotiations between the manufacturers and the Department of the Treasury are ongoing, and that new guidance is expected in March.

IOW - who knows?

Agreed. Is that 6.29% the lowest rate? In January I saw 3 HMF tiers and the lowest (best credit rating) was 5.25%.

That may be true, but the question was about financing, not leasing.

The dealership is not the lessor. The bank is the lessor. So, the dealer has nothing to do with it.

It does not qualify for purchases, but it qualifies for Leases per IRS guidance under the "Qualified Commercial Clean Vehicles Credit" section. See that section's Q5. The lessor, gets the tax credit and can pass it on to consumer via a reduction in capitalized cost.

KBB covered it as well. In fact, quite a few publications have covered this provision and IRS's clarification guidance.

The dealership is not the lessor. The bank is the lessor. So, the dealer has nothing to do with it.

I stand corrected. Then the bank would get the tax credit.

Nope. After I sent a message to Hyundai Corporate, they agreed and added a $7,500 "Rebate" to all EVs (Kona and Ioniq) Lease deals. See here.
