Yes, and extra points if they take Highway 2 over the mountains to Leavenworth rather than the more common I90 route. It is certainly the more scenic option if they are fortunate enough to make the drive during daylight hours!
Leavenworth looks like a neat place. I've only driven through a couple of times, but it has a Bavarian theme to the whole town (or, at least, the whole downtown area), and it is particularly beautiful at night during this time of year.

By the weather models we appear to be heading into yet another warm spell, maybe presaging another disappointing winter (in terms of cold and snow - last year we got about half of normal), if they are doing this in the next week or two there's a good chance the drive won't be bad.
I think they are flying up the middle of next week.

What I have learned is that your car won't be worth much more than one with 80000 miles on it.
My 2014 C250 is worth about $6800 if I sell it to one of those "We Buy Cars" sites and it has 48000 miles on it...it looks and drives like a new car. I am pretty sure I can get $11000 for it privately.
If I sold it to "We Buy Cars" I'd get $6800, and then I'd have to spend $16000 to $20000 to get a car that would be as good as the C250.

His main advice was to try to come up with a plan for how long you're going to keep your car, or even just to realize that when you get a diagnosis for thousands in repairs that maybe you're getting a message that it's time to move on. This was advice pitched not to chronic car buyers like most of us, but for people who might try to hang on to their cars past the point when it made sense.
My 2018 Acura TLX is now at seven and a half years and 93k. Even going beyond the maintenance minder and having all services done at the dealer total costs there are at $2700, compared to the estimate from Edmunds that even the first five years of owning a TLX will have an average maintenance cost of around $6k.
But now I'm approaching all of the things for the 100k or so service, although for some of those I'm going to wait till the maintenance minder actually tells me something should be done. Although I've had all services done by the only Acura dealer in town, for things like the $525 valve adjustment I might get a quote from a local Honda dealer, one of which has 15% off labor costs for cars over 100k...Valve adjustment as far as I can tell is all labor and no parts.
Things cost less in Louisville than many places, but even here a $50 oil change at this point seems low, although I realize its their loss leader to get you in.

Carvana was offering me $26,800 for the Mustang going into winter, an increase of $2800 from last month. I said if they wanted to give me that much and save me the trouble of storing it, why not. I started the “official” offer process and suddenly the price dropped to $22,000. What an insult.
Why lead you on with a high offer and then low ball you?

Yes and no. It is just a matter of how easy is it to sell? A 10 year old car that's in fantastic shape (like I'm sure your C250 is) with lower than average mileage might not be worth that much more on a trade in compared to a higher mileage example from the same year, but that's the car you will be able to get a lot more from when selling privately.
The market for @oldfarmer50 's 10 year old Mustang GT is far different than that of your C250. In addition to mileage and condition, buyer's are looking for light to zero modifications. There's going to be SOMEONE out there looking for his exact car, color, options, just because it is a performance car.

I also factor in the car (a solid non-turbo powertrain known for durability and relative simplicity vs. something complicated and known for expensive failures like a turbo) and the other biggie, did you just ignore everything for 100k (occasional oil changes and that is it), or did you over maintain it?
Oh, and of course, do you still like it enough after 7 years (forget about mileage) to want to live with it another 7!

I still love driving the TLX, and there's nothing wrong with it. Can't get an Acura with four-wheel steering these days. Maybe Porsche still has that? Nimble handling and fast for me acceleration, which is as fast or faster than the BMWs I wanted back in the 90s. My 2018 is also the first year to have two important things--AndroidAuto/Carplay and adaptive cruise control, both of which I use a lot.
But after many years of my Acura being our most luxurious car, I have to admit my wife's Outback has a more comfortable and quieter ride. I like the awd when it snows and even when there's heavy rain + station wagon practicality. One of our old TVs recently died, and we could easily fit the new 65" Sony box in the back with room to spare.
Since we have 2.9 years more of car payments at 0.9% for her car I'm going to try keep my TLX at least until then. And even then I doubt I'll find something I like as much. But might start looking at options then.
There's your answer: I still love driving the TLX

I’m getting to the same place with the Outback. Almost 11 years old with just shy of 80,000 miles. Nothing really wrong with it, but I’m starting to think about replacing in in a year or two. Perhaps before 100k, when the trade value drops.
Like you, not sure what I’d replace it with. I don’t know that I still need an SUV, and I’ve always been partial to sedans.
