  use a flush kit.
  
  Just drain out the old stuff, refill and run on water, and then do again, running on distilled water.
  
  Then refill with the correct amount of A/F (I'd use the new orange non silicate stuff) and then add the Ford anticavitation additive (I think you need two bottles)
  
  The anticavitation additive is basically Potassium Hydroxide, so don't get any on your clothes.
  
  
  I have switched all my water cooled vehicles over to the new stuff. I use premixed Rotella XLC orange antifreeze in the motorcycles and snowmobiles. Good for 5 years/150,000 miles, no water pump wear, no silicates precipitating out.
  
  Take that flush kit back to the store for a refund.

  truck has always used more water than I thought it should 1994. The problem appears to be geting worse, although I can't be certain. The oil turns darker faster than I think it should, but I suspect that the rings were never quite right. I am considering using "Bars Leak" They claim its used in many new cars. Any thoughts? Needless to say I'm thinking the head gasket leaks. I must be very nominal - no white vapor.
